Europe persists in being delightful in the Spring, despite the variable weather. Tezuka, I extend my thanks once again for your family's hospitality ( Read more... )

You know what they say as to what one does when in Rome.

You conducted yourself as a member of a deceased civilization? Did this require you to take up the role of a centurion?

If it did, I assure you the costume was totally not lame and all there.

Not my immediate concern, but I do not doubt the truth of it.

Goodness, Keigo, I'm forced to assume your knowledge of Europe beyond Germany is ridiculously outdated.

On the contrary, Yuushi. I am simply aware that "doing as the Romans do", the correct climax to your phrase, would involve imitating a civilization without voting rights in the EU.

Shishido, you will note, seems vaguer on whether your activities involved armour.

Oh, Romans do quite a few things that the rest of the world would do to learn from. Part of the city's charm, naturally.

He's clearly been picking up my skills in being vague and putting them to practice, that is all.

Of course. Are you implying you spent your time examining the city's sewerage system? And here was I blaming Shishido's memory loss on voluntary oral intoxication.

Perhaps. Although you are want to give the impression you do know the information, but choose not to divulge. Shishido appears like a fresh exercise book. Or perhaps one sodden with water that the ink has quite dissolved.

Your mind is in the gutter, Keigo. You should think of the finer things, you know.

Well he is only beginning to learn, perhaps more like the fledgling strokes of a pen before the ink really begins to flow.

How droll of you.

A pleasing icon, although not taken in Rome, I believe? You are both dressed after all.

I know. I seem to have developed quite the sense of humour over the holidays.

A far earlier event, as you can tell by Shishido's lack of luscious locks and not as you would have it by the fact that we aren't dressed as rejects from the cast of Gladiator.

Would this be due to an excess of amusing events or a lack of anything short of horrifying?

Come now Yuushi, I would not consider you a definite rejection from such a cast. All but one of the gladiators much be devoured by lions after all. Though I admit to it being the greater fate than from a Shetland pony.

Nonsense, there can never be an excess of amusing events... as long as one is on the side being amused, of course.

Are you asking me to contemplate whether it would be a better fate to be eaten by a computer generated lion or your ridiculous excuse for a horse?

That is indeed the key and it is an art form I note you are adapt at, my friend.

Quite so. Do you have a preference?

I do try to excel at what I put my mind to.

... I've come to realise in all my years of existence I've never once given thought to that particular question.

And you succeed in the arena of causing amusing events to take place around and about you but never involving you. Perhaps this rather explains Mukahi.

How positively astounding.
