2007
2008

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? cocaine. ha. I don't even smoke pot. It was left over from my 2008 self-discovery.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
YES! My room spent 77% of 2009 clean. This year I want to have better hair. It may be trivial, but I've never had great hair and it's going to be gray before I know it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?? A girl I grew up with had a baby. I think babies are a terrible idea.

4. Did anyone close to you die? TOBY. It's so lonely at home.

5. What countries did you visit?? I went to the Bahamas for spring break.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? A steady hookup or just a hookup actually.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory? The end of the summer when we moved out of our apartment. Everything/one changed after that.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? My Acutely Ill Peds class was rather impossible and I got one of maybe two A's in the class. I worked really hard this semester and it paid off with a 3.938.

9. What was your biggest failure? This entire year was incredibly uneventful. 2008 was so amazing and this year was so dull. I want to make things happen in 2010. I'm graduating finally so it's prime opportunity.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Another illness/injury free year.

11. What was the best thing you bought? A new flat iron ha. I'm on my way to better hair!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Eileen is an incredibly dependable person (besides being on time). She's always there when you need her, non-judgmental, and has a heart of gold.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? My dad really dropped the ball when my mom got sick. She was very sick for a while, but nothing on a scale of chronic or terminal illness. I can't even imagine if she had been diagnosed with something serious because my Dad really failed her on this small scale.

14. Where did most of your money go? Coffee. Snacks. I'm ashamed.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Working in the MICU. The BWH MICU was recommended to me while I was in Baltimore. Fate seems to enjoy working in my favor career-wise. I really wanted to work in the MICU and by some miracle they were the only ICU hiring. Next semester for my senior practicum I'm working in the BWH cardiac surgery ICU. I could only request critical care, not the facility or the unit and nothing was guaranteed. I was placed in the unit and at the hospital I would have selected had I been given a choice.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009? I'm on a boat.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
I am not happier. I am not sadder. 2009 was kind of dull and I'm looking forward to an amazing final semester of school and getting a job somewhere else in the country.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? I just completed 60 hours of work the week of Christmas. I better be effing richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? I need to find an organization to becoming involved with. I'm hoping once I graduate I can go on medical trips in third-world countries. I've never given back and I need to.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Spent money of course.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? This past Christmas I worked in the MICU 7a-3p and then went to my aunt's for dinner.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009? No.

23. How many one night stands in this last year? No one night stands. A few hookups with repeat offenders.

24. What was your favourite TV programme? True Blood is the only vampire train I've hopped on.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I definitely don't hate anyone.

26. What was the best book you read? Reading was not my thing in 2009. Mountains Beyond Mountains I guess.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? The XX and Florence and the Machine.

28. What did you want and get? My senior practicum in the BWH Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit.

29. What did you want and not get? digits. ha.

30. What was your favourite film of this year? Cutting Class starring Brad Pitt. An instant classic.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Christ. 11/29 I turned 23 (still an undergrad, it's fine) My best friends and I went for chinese at golden temple (see 2004). The next week they threw me a middle school dance party that was amazing.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Doing something to be proud of.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009? oversized.

34. What kept you sane? Freems, Martina, and Hutchie.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? The H.Duff/Penn Badgley/Vanessa threesome on gossip girl was my celebrity threesome dreams come true!

36. What political issue stirred you the most? the entire healthcare debate. you can't please everyone, but maybe we can at least provide everyone with basic needs.

37. Who did you miss? I miss Toby and life in 616 and Cate.

38. Who was the best new person you met? I really didn't meet a lot of new people this year. I like the nurses I work with and I got to know some people who lived in my building better (of course after I move out).

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009?
This might be ubiquitous but it's really important to not take your friends for granted. I also learned that people that you value will take you for granted and it's heartbreaking but it happens.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. Did I ask you for attention when affection is what I need/thinking sorrow is perfection i'd wallow until you told me/there's not glitter in the gutter there's no twilight galaxy.
