That's...actually quite clever. I read this and I sort of stopped to think about it for a second. I doubt most people would make the connection between "painting on the wall" and "potential hook" in such a situation.

I totally stole that from my parents. My mum is a nurse and my dad is an RT. One of our dogs had pancreatitis a few years back and we had to give her an interstitial IV a couple of times a day and a little while ago another of our dogs had surgery and came home with an IV. My mum and dad hung the bag off the knob on the clock on the wall, off the cord that hangs the curtains that cover her closet and off a hook that was previously holding a cross stitch, depending on where the dog was at the time. I thought that was pretty clever.

This makes me wonder if Mycroft started the hedgehogs/otters thing, as revenge for something Sherlock did. John getting sucked into it was an accident, albeit one Mycroft found hilarious and so did nothing to stop.

I can totally believe Mycroft is secretly behind all internet memes. Just because he has to get bored sometimes, too.
