could've been more

Let's see, tommorow's states, which should be mucho fun. I was so uptight and anxious about it before, but considering that I am not doing Extemp, and I just need to brush off my dec and my poetry, it should be completely fine. Thank God for Extemp; I honestly had dreams about the thing. Not nightmares per se, because I didn't wake up screaming or in a cold sweat. They tended to be very vivid, though, which is rather unusual. I had visions of eight-year-olds in the prep room, peering into their files, giving satisfied little smiles as they found the correct file.

I kid you not. Eight year olds. In the prep room. In suits.

I am on a tiny high because of states, it makes me happy to think that I'm going. I can't say the same for districts, but that's life. We have plenty of time for districts. Hold on for a second; I need to put my ambition back in its cage.

At the very least, testing is over, which is lovely. Testing is not difficult, just tedious and useless as hell. HESPAS do not, as a matter of fact, stimulate or motivate learning. I think that a couple of legislators need to go back to eighth grade.

I need to get back writing. Properly writing. School stuff, too. School stuff has not been up at its best. And as for other writing? Wow.

Anberlin is inspiring. It makes me happy. Even the angsty songs make me happy.
