(Note: This was copied from my MySpace bulletin this morning. Simply never got around to copying it over earlier. :-P
Forgive the lack of eloquency in this post. I'm pretty damn tired.
Where to start? So, the weekend started off already really fucking good, since I got a new phone on Friday FINALLY. I now have a dope LG 9800. (
This phone, basically.) So now I have a really awesome new phone, the exact one I've been wanting for hella long.
Next on the agenda? Spencer and I drove out to Bethel Island and stayed a good chunk of the weekend with an old friend of her's that she hadn't seen in awhile. That was pretty awesome. We stayed up a good chunk of the night around a fire outside, roasting s'mores and just chillaxin'. We stayed overnight at her house too, and that was pretty awesome because the next day we had to head into Berkeley...
To go see Death Cab! What an amazing show! Spencer was cute as hell, as always, and even cuter by keeping an actual tally of how many songs of their's she did or didn't know lyrics to. I was really excited to be there with her, it's one of her favourite bands and they've definitely grown on me as well. They played an amazing set, too. A lot of stuff off of Plans (possibly my favourite Death Cab album), and they actually ended up playing a lot of old stuff, too, which was pretty cool. Crowning moment of the show? Well...they had just finished up, and I was relatively taken aback by the fact that they hadn't played a certain song I was hoping to hear ('I Will Follow You Into The Dark', actually...a song I, well, we consider to be one of our 'songs'). So then, we're leaving...and of course, they come back out and start playing it. That really did make my night. Being able to be there with her and sing the words of the song to and with her really will not be something I'll forget.
Baby, I'm sorry I made you run back into the venue with me to see them play it, even though your legs were hurting. You already know it was the one song, if any, the one song I really wanted to be there with you to hear. That meant the world to me.
There were other incredibly amazing things that happened this weekend, but I'll keep those details to myself...
All in all, words cannot describe. I could only wish that the weekend would've lasted longer.
Unfortunately, on a sad note....my fish died this morning. :( He was just a little goldfish that Spencer and I got at the fair. Really, I'm surprised he lived this long. I guess I was kinda hopin' he'd continue to make it. Oh well...
And still, I have time off work. Sweeeeeeet.
