Parenting on public transportation

On the bus. A kid is sitting in a stroller and having a real tantrum. Not crying, no. But yelling on the top of their lungs, so that you can hear them on the second floor of the bus as well. I checked, because I ran upstairs immediately to avoid thinking about this - unsuccessfully so. The mother looks like she could care less. This is disturbing on so many levels. First, strollers on public transportation take up so much space... With my two kids, I would take advantage of baby carriers or, if the kid is too heavy - use an umbrella stroller, but not this cadillac-monster, that most parents use. Second, you ignore your kid today - they will ignore you at 18. Get down to their level, fold the stroller, do the lap thing, read, sing... PARENT. Third - you are not the only one on the bus, woman! Maybe there are 10 lactating mothers sitting next to you and their shirts are now wet cause of your kid! All jokes aside though, this is disturbing to hear AND sends the wrong message about "raising kids" in general.
