I will be doing some redecorating over a period of time as I make payment on some web comic art that will be delivered over the next few months. The first painting arrived Friday and I just hung it today.
This is Tiffany Et. She's one of the main four characters in Christopher J. Paulsen's web comic "Precocious"
http://www.precociouscomic.com . Chris is a trained artist and does other work, but is now doing paintings of his characters-both stock paintings and commissions. I have commissioned a family portrait of the Linkletter family-Harvey, Deirdre and Jacob. Of the four main families, they're about as close to the Donna Reed type as you get.
Tiffany (9 years old)is the oldest of the five Et children. Their mother was an aspiring health sciences student at university, but going through a shotgun wedding and five kids...lets just say that things changed. Tiff can be sweet, but she can also be destructive and sadistic (when it comes to her siblings). She's not exactly dependable but is very creative-she's an aspiring artist. Her primary medium (so far) is painting but she does other things-partly to develop her skills and partly to play pranks on the other kids.
The commissions I like to do are ones that make the artist work. The Linkletter family portrait will be of the family just after Jacob's birth-he's
9 years old in the story. Challenge to artist-figure out what Harvey and Deirdre would look like ten years younger. The next commission will be Tiffany tormenting one or more siblings-the intent being to make the painting part of a spoof motivational poster-it'll be a de-motivational poster!
This painting itself is 8" x 10" oil on canvas and "A Loving Family"-the Linkletter family portrait will be a 12" x 12" oil on canvas painting.
