Well, it was a fun and busy week up in Colorado Springs. I learned a lot from my compatriots at other railroad museums and operations. The organizers for this year's convention lined up some great vendors-the  one I patronized the most was an antique book seller who had all sorts of railroad technical books that were priced just right. Thrilling titles such as Nichols Standard Railroad Textbook, Forty Years on the Rails (railroad employee's biography), Science of Railways-Operating Trains, Electric Lighting and Railways, Design of Railway Location, Route Surveying, Roadway and Track, Principles of Railway Transportation and Christianity vs, Railroading. Most of the books were printed between 1908 and 1940, though Forty Years on the Rails was published in 1887.
