I sometimes worry about my love for physics contradicting my love for philosophy. I worry about which of the two will win the battle in my mind, while I silently wish that it continues indefinitly. For I find myself ranting philosophy more often than I come even close to ranting physics. Its just that the natural world excites me in many different ways. Some physical and some spiritual. We're all spiritual beings and depend on some sort of connectedness to the universe. Perhaps i'll attempt to include some physical views in my rants. Though concidering I spend my whole day working with the physical world, maybe ranting spiritual release is perfectly natural.

The observer observes himself differently than everyone else. From one point of view, humanity is a virus suffocating the earth. You can see evidence supporting this all over our society. We all watch the actions of others therefore we are all observers to a certain degree. Though when an observer turns his eyes to himself he usually doesnt associate the humanity-virus with himself. There seems to be at least an unconscious resistance to associating conformity with oneself. Watching what one would call "the masses", one doesnt make the connection as oneself being a part of that mass and persists to think of oneself as a seperate entity. Yet here is where things get interesting. If everyone shares this view then everyone thinks of themselves as an individual and not distinctly part of the masses. Though if you look at the overall universal consciousness then everyone is simultaneously an individual, seperate from the masses, and an indistinguishable blurr inside the masses. If this is true then is it possible to have a completely unified society? Is it possible to have a union composed of millions of disassociated individuals? If each person thinks of themself as seperate from the mass, then there is no unity. Perhaps we have to start to think as a whole in order for an equal, peaceful society to finally work.

Ive been thinking a fair bit about leaving reality and ive come to the conclusion that theres no such thing as "leaving reality". Yes, you can trick yourself into believing that you've left reality in the enclosed system of your mind, yet during that time you don't actually leave reality. You're still technically living in reality even if in your closed mental state it doesnt feel that way. Also, what do you return to afterwards? Reality of course. Theres no alternative, sadly. Though even if there was an alternative whos to say that it would be better than what we have now? It can always get worse. Always. So lets escape briefly to reality's end and we can hold hands on the walk back.
