And you said it yourself "it's how you deal with it that shows what kind of person you are." Well if you ask most people, he's dealing with it pretty good right now =P. As I have said, WATCH THE REST OF IT AND YOU WILL GET WHAT I MEAN.
Also, he has not ONCE whined. He's mad. And that's what I like about him. He's EEVIL AND INSANE.
Everyone just makes sad icons out of him that look pretty neat. Even as a fucking kid he's never whined. Go back and watch the episodes. His story only shows how he was lead up to madness and hate. Then the battle with Naruto made him change a bit. Did you not forgot how he apologized to Temari and Kankuro after that battle? That was the turning point in his life. Naruto himself(bad childhood too might I add), who dealt with his childhood, caused Gaara to change his way of dealing with Nartuo. Naruto the "influecial" character simply made it possible for Gaara to change. The story basically shows how influencial Naruto is. Gaara as an EEVIL MAD character shows how much Naruto can change a person. Which makes you think "hmm if he changed Gaara, why not also Sasuke?"
So really, he is NOT the whiney bitch of the story. He's had a badchildhood, and I must repeat myself, but he has NOT whined. SASUKE. THAT is a different story. That MOTHERFUCKER is such a FUCKING WHINER. OMG.
You don't HAVE to feel sorry for him. In fact I feel way less sorry for him now and more sorry for Hinata and her bitch ass of a dad. I just like his ICONS and his COOLNESS factor. Who really feels sorry for an ICON? Not really me unless it was a puppy getting stabbed.
For the record, his own hands imprison him because he accidentally killed Yashamaru with them... not literally(unless they mean when he held his hands up to his face because he had exploding seals in them) but as in he was basically "redhandded" in the killing of Yashamaru(not sure of his name), and even his mother. Also you notice he uses his hands(yes demonic force power) to do desert coffin? Even as he was falling when Lee faught him? Well like Naruto, he has a seal. His is no possessed in only his MIND all over his body he is possesed. So really his hands DO imprison him. His whole body does too.
All the people he's killed "by his own hands" he is feeling or int his icon feels right now. The guilt of is finally there.
