...In the Shift, Adell had adored Nu. She was his niece, and her and Noel were his favorites of Terra's brood. He remembered the times he and Nu shared, happily. Trading stories, advice, and just general good cheer. She had spied on his proposal to Charle, and was undeniably happy for them. It was all... so surreal, unbelievable.
How could he deal with this? It would've made more sense if Nu never wanted to speak to them again; it'd have been easier. But here... she was so genuinely sad and probably really confused about all of this. He can't help but feel... some sort of sympathy for her. And all of it confirmed that there was really a lot more behind the robotic facade she usually used to communicate with him in the past. If she was as emotionless as she appeared, this would've never bothered her in the first place.
Adell still wasn't sure he could trust her... or really, associate much with her at this point. But he's not the type to just ignore what's... essentially a plea for help.]
Nu... [...He decides to try to keep an even, positive tone.] ...Yeah, I'm all right. Are you?

...There's no denying that at the time, she really was fond at him. And she was happy to spend time with him, happy for him when he'd proposed to that girl and she accepted - for someone who, under normal circumstances, was an acquaintance who helped deal with Hazama and who she'd fought alongside with at the battledome at best and a nuisance - if a powerful one - who showed up at the hot springs at the wrong time at worst.
When she answers, her usual robotic monotone remains, but there's a faint hint of something else in her voice. It's barely audible, but there seems to be an underlying tone of what almost sounds a bit like relief in it.]
...All systems within accepted limits. [Physically, she's fine. Still a bit tired, yes, but fine. Emotionally? That's another story, but it's clear she's not entirely comfortable with admitting that.]

...I admit. I'm a little surprised to hear from you. But... I'm glad you're all right. Relatively speaking, of course.
[He can't know how hard this is for her. He can only guess, given how confused her entry was, and the expression in the doodle. He could only guess she was... lonely, maybe.]

Excuse the slightly delayed response, Adell. Someone's... still not sure how to handle this.]
...Glad...? [She knnows what that word means, of course, but it's still surprising to hear. If only because that's... really not something she expected anyone in her former family to say.]

[He shakes his head and gives a light smile.]
...Thanks for checking on us, Nu. I appreciate that.

[ν-13 appreciates the thanks, too. She really does. But... for some reason, that particular word catches her attention. It's true that the last experiment was complicated in both senses of the word, so it's certainly an appropriate description, but yet...
...Something about hearing it used in this context is... unpleasant. Maybe it's because she's frequently seen it used in a negative way and because she's still not really willing to consider what happened bad per se. Regardless, though, it's fairly obvious that it seems to be bothering her a bit.]
