Merlin's shared destiny with Prince Arthur has become one of the most conflicted elements of his life. Their friendship--if it can be called that--is built on secrets, lies, and a kind of mutual hostility in most conversations; however, Merlin knows with every fibre of his being that Arthur can be a good king if fate plays out as it should.
