Reading recommendations, anyone?

I've been reading quite a lot again lately. I'm currently reading a translated book called 'Crime and Punishment' by Dostoyevsky. It seems to be from a different world to this one, as it contains several locations that clearly aren't from here, and I think it said it took place in 'Russia'. Fujiko also said that the author's name sounded Russian. I ( Read more... )

I said that?

I met Russia! He would know!

He's very scary. Be careful.

Yes, when you were older.

Really? I've seen a few people claiming to be countries posting on other peoples journals, but I didn't take it too seriously. Still, I suppose anything is possible.

And don't worry. I've lived through some fairly frightening experiences.

Hum. So I'm smart too?

What anything??? Really?

Oh. Well still... don't get hurt...

Yes.

On the Grand Line, yes, so it seems. I mean, I never thought it would be possible for people to appear from other worlds, but it clearly is. These events are easier for me to comprehend, as I've known about Devil Fruits, which though different also have 'magical' effects on people who eat them, for as long as I can remember.

I'll be fine Fujiko. But I appreciate your concern.

Yay.

Wow. Cursed fruit... hum. Someone else said I ate one. And they were talking about pink bananas and blue carrots. So weird. Have you ever eaten one?

Okay! Are you strong?

No, I haven't eaten one. Yet. I hope I stay lucky and manage to avoid consuming any accidentally. You must have been less fortunate, you ate a blue carrot.

Yes. Not as strong as some of my friends, but I can handle myself well.

Oh. That's why I'm here now. Hum.

I like it here though. It's nice. I don't want to go back.

Like Mr. Kaku-Giraffe and me. What are you now?

We aren't quite sure what happens when the effects wear off. You could just be older Fujiko who looks like when she was younger, and has forgotten everything that happened between now and when she was that age. You might not be going back at all. And even if you are, just remember you'll be returning here soon in the future.

Yes. Currently, unfortunately, I'm unemployed.

Oh. Well hey yeah... that makes sense. Thanks Miss Kalifa!

Oh. But then what does my ship do?

Hmm... I'm not quite sure, actually. I never really asked. I just wanted a place to stay, and was invited. I was traveling on my own, but in the long term that is never a good idea in the Grand Line, especially if you have no aim. Not to mention it gets quite dull. I speak from experience.

That's what I want to do. I think if older me is still me then she has to too.

Is that what you want to do?

I suppose so.

It's what I've always wanted to do. I still do. I suppose I've just lost my way a little since the rather unfortunate circumstances that caused my unemployment and landed me in this situation.
