[As he waited on the pink haired samurai to finish his phone call, he wondered exactly just how much longer things were going to take. He wasn't exactly comfortable in public, and standing near the alleyway with his hat brim lowered over his eyes was the only temporary solution he had to the position he had found himself in. Yukimi was busy with ( Read more... )

[Fixing the pink haired man with an intense look, he kept his mouth closed. Of course it would be wrong to tell Raikou about how he and Miharu were planning to run away from Kairoshuu, if things came down to it. It was by Yukimi's good graces things had continued to work out as smoothly as they had thus far. He didn't exactly trust the pink haired samurai, considering his position within Kairoshuu and his loyalty to Hattori. He knew that man couldn't be trusted. Even if he had saved Gau's life, because Raikou was too weak to do anything about the problem himself, a favor such as turning a blind eye wouldn't ever be an option. He never wanted anyone's help to begin with. He didn't need anyone's help, now that he had Miharu and the majority of the hijitsu's were within their reach. They would take the right precautions they needed to ensure their survival for that much longer and when they were out of the city, if it came down to it, they would never look back. He would help Miharu become the King of Nabari, as he promised. And in return, Miharu would erase his existence.] "....It's getting late. Yukimi should be there by now."

[Raikou studied Yoite's reactions carefully. He'd learned that the silence was normal, but Yoite seemed very thoughtful on top of it all. This led Raikou into a brief silence before he spoke again.]

"You and Miharu should let me know if you need anything." [Raikou hadn't forgotten what Yoite had done for Gau. He would never stop being grateful. Not for as long as he lived, and quite possibly beyond that.] "Should I call Gau again?" [Raikou didn't even reach for his phone. He just sat and waited for Yoite's reaction to his offer.]

[After a few more moments of long silence, he shifted his gaze back to the pink haired man. Call Gau? It wouldn't hurt to see if the blonde Suiko-Han member had showed up yet. If Yukimi hadn't, Yoite honestly didn't know where the cheerful samurai would drag him off next. He was far from being full, his can of green tea now empty and setting off to the side of the table, but sustenance was hardly a concern of his if Miharu was involved. He knew the threat that Wakachi posed and that Yukimi would also retaliate against them, if they should step one foot out of line. He would have to guard Miharu closely and keep information transferring to a minimum. At least, until they were out of the city.] "...We'll be fine. Call Gau if you think you should."

"Still hungry?" [That was a silly question, as Raikou already knew the answer. He watched Yoite carefully for a few moments, then pulled out his phone and called Gau again.] "Yeah. He's there, right? Are you finished? Okay. Hold on." [Raikou held the phone away from his mouth, looking over at Yoite again.] "Yukimi's there. They're almost finished, if you want to go back."

[Raikou wasn't necessarily ready, but if Yoite wanted to leave, he'd allow it. They'd end up going to the same place. After all, Raikou would have to retrieve Gau.] "Maybe we should have Gau meet us somewhere. What do you think?"

[He watched the pink haired mans facial expressions throughout the entire conversation, short lived as it was. He was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable in the situation he was in. Even though the food was good, at least he'd assume it tasted as good as it smelled - thing had definitely become awkward. All this talk about Hattori and loyalty was making his skin crawl.

Once the phone had been outstretched to the side, his eyes narrowed as he continued to read Raikou's lips, wondering if there were things he wasn't being told. If Yukimi and Gau's work was almost finished, that meant Yukimi would be returning to his apartment where Miharu was. He no longer had a reason to be hanging out with the older Wakachi member and understanding this charade had passed, he was ready to go. Standing up abruptly, he cleaned his portion of the mess and returned to the table side, darkened blues forced.] "...Let's go to where Yukimi is."

[Raikou nodded and turned back to the phone. He made sure to turn away this time, pretending to clear the trash from the table as he spoke to Gau. He informed Gau that they'd be returning soon, and he would tell him the details later. Raikou snapped the phone shut again and turned to face Yoite, a smile on his face.]

"Let's go, Yoite. Yukimi's waiting for you."

[With a nod, he waited for the pink haired man to rise from the table and headed straight for the door. Once he exited the building, he paused at the corner near the street and sideways glanced the samurai for further instruction of the direction they would be heading.]

[Raikou half-wished he had thought to slide Yukimi's car keys into his pocket when he had the chance. He thought Yukimi couldn't drive either, based on how much he yelled and cursed behind the wheel. Of course, that had nothing to do with Raikou, Miharu, Gau, or even Yoite. That was all Yukimi's problem.]

"We should get ice cream while we're out!" [Raikou grinned and hummed happily to himself over the idea. Ice cream was good, and he'd get to see Yoite eat it. That was sure to be cute, even if Yoite wouldn't admit to it.] "What's your favorite flav..." [Raikou stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, turning to look into a shop window. There was a very colorful scarf displayed, and Raikou was getting ideas. Yoite would look really cute in it. He sneakily peeked over at Yoite. That boy sure did need some color in his wardrobe.] "Come on Yoite, we're going in!"

[Of all the ridiculous ideas this man could conjure up, Yoite thought to himself. Ice cream and mochi were some of the treats Kazuho used to grace him, when she visited, but right now? Well, he couldn't exactly complain, not being able to taste anything and having a bottomless pit for a stomach helped. But it was quite different for him to be seen in a public store, with Raikou no less.

For one, he dressed far too flamboyant to properly blend into a crowd. They were ninjas! To bring unwanted attention to themselves was asking for trouble. Narrowing his eyes, he silently followed the man across the street to the beauty boutique, but that was as far as he would go. He somewhat shied away from the door, opting to stand next to a wall near the entrance instead. He hoped this little detour wouldn't last long.] "....."

[Oh, this wouldn't do at all. Raikou paused outside the shop, looking over at Yoite.] "Well, aren't you coming?" [Raikou knew better than to touch Yoite, but maybe if he could annoy the younger boy enough, he'd comply and go into the store.] "You're going to get cold. Come on, Yoite!"

[And if Yoite wouldn't comply, Raikou would go in on his own, and buy something even more outlandishly loud for Yoite than the scarf he'd been eyeing. Maybe a hat to go with it. Something more colorful than Yoite's usual brown cap. Every time Raikou looked at him, he wanted to dress him in colors. Maybe a different sweater - still with a high neck. Blue would really bring out Yoite's eyes.]

[Why on earth would he want to go in there? The thought still puzzled him. He glanced over at the samurai with a doubtful look, as if it was to explain the inner monologue he was having with himself. He honestly didn't feel the cold, wearing a turtleneck and long coat as he was. He continued to stand there for a few moments, ducking his head as a woman and her daughter passed by them.

Pulling his cap down a bit, he tried to shy his face away, catching the curious look of the brown haired girl who looked at him as she passed. He would rather be standing in an alleyway, away from others sight if he could help it. If he went into the store, there would be even more people staring. He wasn't in a winning position and that bothered him.] "...It's too crowded."

[Raikou put his hands on his hips and leaned over closer to Yoite, so they were practically nose to nose.] "Just because you don't think you're cold doesn't mean you aren't! Are you coming willingly, or am I going to have to drag you in?"

[In all honesty, Raikou would do it, even just to see the look on Yoite's face if he tried. It wasn't the nicest thing in the world to do, but Yoite's proclivities could prove entertaining.] "Now you're just being silly. Come inside before you make us both look even more suspicious than we already are."

[That threat received a glare, as he firmly stood his ground and made no attempt to head inside. He honestly wasn't cold and the racks of clothing seemed too close together for his comfort level. If the samurai tried to pull him, he would resist.] "...It's unnecessary to waste time like this, when Yukimi is waiting."

[Raikou rolled his eyes dramatically and gave Yoite one more look.] "All right, if you want to do it the hard way, we will. Yukimi can wait a little longer. It's not as though he's doing anything important."

[With that, Raikou headed into the store and returned with the scarf he saw in the window, and a matching hat. He had pulled a blue turtleneck sweater off the table and took that with him as well, much to the horror of the young ladies in the shop. Raikou simply flashed a smile on his way out, pointing to Yoite standing just outside the door.] "This color will look great on you!"

[Raikou held up the sweater, holding it against Yoite to check the size as best he could. He thought it would fit just fine, and slung it over his arm before wrapping the scarf around Yoite's throat. He then quickly pulled off Yoite's hat, replacing it with a blue one that matched the scarf.] "There, much better! Really, Yoite, you just need more color in your wardrobe!"

[Now this was something he would have never expected to happen. Standing there, shifting and keeping a focused look on his surroundings, he made sure they weren't being stalked by anyone from the world of Nabari. A confrontation in public would draw too much attention they couldn't afford. Tilting up the brim of his hat, he changed a look towards the sky above. The sun had been hidden by a few passing clouds. It would be a few hours until the sun began to make its way behind the mountains for the evening.

Shifting his gaze back towards the store, he watched a few teenage girls flipping through a few hangers on the rack with distaste. He would never understand the appeal of such things. He had been raised in a completely different world. The girls were probably close to his age. In all truthfulness, he never once wondered what it would be like to live a normal lifestyle. He would probably be a student at some high school, like Miharu had been, before he got wrapped up in their mess.

When he caught sight of the pink haired samurai coming out of the shop, he pushed himself off the wall, thinking it was finally time for them to leave. Oh, how wrong he had been. Before he could make a break to run, he found the other man assaulting him. He tried to take a few steps back, but felt froze when the other mans hands were all over him, shifting and adjusting things.] "What.. what are you doing?!"

[He made a grab for his hat, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and anger at having his cap forcefully removed. It really was like a security blanket for him. The bright colors he wasn't used to and shoved them away from his chest quite violently. Grabbing the scarf with gloved hands, he tried to pull it off, but found that Raikou wouldn't hear of it. His face felt like it was now burning and he wasn't pleased.] "..This.. no! Stop it! I don't want to wear these things! There's nothing wrong with my hat. Give it back to me!"

[It could be said that Raikou was a bit on the sadistic side, especially with the innocent smile on his face. He really was enjoying this. It was so fun to make Yoite squirm, even though Raikou didn't really mean it.]

"Oh come on, Yoite-kun! The blue really brings out your eyes. Don't you think Miharu will like it?" [Maybe that was a low blow - Raikou knew how Yoite felt about Miharu, even though it was never said. He'd never make fun of it. It'd be like someone mocking his relationship with Gau. Raikou took it very seriously.]

"The blue looks nice on you." [Raikou's voice was a little softer, his movements a bit slower. Slowly, Raikou unwound the scarf from Yoite's throat and replaced his hat after ruffling the boy's hair.] "A little color never hurt anyone, Yoite-kun."

[With a smile, Raikou disappeared into the shop with the clothes and walked out a few moments later with a bag. Yoite would have no say in the matter. Change happened little by little. Raikou had seen the changes in Yoite since meeting Miharu, and maybe he could have some fun with the little devil later. Raikou could only hope Yoite hadn't bolted in the time it took him to make his purchase.]

"Are you ready to go, Yoite-kun?"
