Прочитал сборник цитат и афоризмов английского беллетриста Джеффри Мейдена (Geoffrey Madan, 1897-1945). Мейден вел дневник цитат и афоризмов, чужих и своих; в английской традиции это называют Commonplace book, и посмертное издание избранных мест из этого дневника назвали в рецензии "лучшим примером Commonplace book 20-го века".
