Five questions, ten answers.

There was this five questions meme going around, so I asked fer1213 and sweet_ali to question me.
Here are the answers:

To sweet_ali’s questions:
1)Tell me something you do when no one's looking.

I am daydreaming mostly: telling myself stories that sometimes end on paper, but more often not; thinking of stuff; singing.

2)One of your favorite childhood memories, tell me.

I don’t exactly rank my childhood memories, so it was hard to come up with the favorite. Here it is:
I was five years old and my parents and their friends decided to go for the New Year holidays on some kind of resort. We were skiing and having a good time. ( Mostly I was skiing sitting on my father’s shoulders, of course) it was a beautiful and snowy outside, and I am not sure I’d seen winter outdoors before, being a city child, and there was animals, and their prints on the snow, and other cool stuff, but the best of all was that group of old friends having fun together spirit that I remember.

3)If you had to give ONE must-read book to a child under 8, what would it be?

First thought: Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland. On the second thought: yes, I’ll stick to it.

4)What amusing tidbits has fandom taught you since beginning?

That fanfiction is cool; that reading porn is an honorable and wholesome waste of time; that we all are, in fact, watching different shows, and even though I find some part of the fandom incredibly annoying, I shouldn’t kill them.

5)It's the middle of the night and you're very thirsty, what do you want to drink?

In the middle of the night I would drink whatever is suitable in the fringe, so I can get back to sleep as soon as possible. But if there is a choice, I’d drink cranberry juice.

To fer1213’s questions:

1. You're from Russia. What is your favorite memory of your life there?

Well, I don’t have one favorite anything - memory or food, or book, etc. but one of the memories I keep coming back to is of my summer vacation in 1997 at Vyoksa lake, Northwest of Russia. I was still at university at the time, and we (5-6 of us) spent two weeks camping there. The story deserves its own post, with pictures and nostalgic brooding. It was the case of everything being perfect, even when it wasn’t. the Vyoska lake is a glacier lake with the multitude of big and small islands in it. Very beautiful, but have you ever notice that there are no road signs on the water? And it was just too easy to get lost and get to the wrong island (we were moving around using the regular boat - without the motor. So we got lost several times, we had no connection with the other world (it was the time when cell phones were still luxury in Russia), we had the best time of our life. Well, may be not the best, but on the top hit list.

2. When and why did you start watching "Buffy"?

I talked about it in a big length here, some time ago.

3. What is your favorite Russian dish?

Whatever I miss most at the moment. ;) Today it would be sour cabbage.

4. How did you meet your husband and how long have you been married?

Almost five years (it is the countdown to the anniversary already!) How? My university friend is married his university friend, there was two different circles, and once we decided to celebrate the New Year in the joint company. Voila!

5. What kind of shampoo do you use?

Right now? Fructis. I tend to change shampoo rather often, my hair seems to like it more than the same shampoo all the time.
