By the title I literally mean habits developed eating specific foods. Who has them? I know I do. Examples:
Scrambled Eggs & Sausage: Sausage is cut into the eggs, covered in fresh ground black pepper (mmmm), eaten together.
Spaghetti w/ garlic bread: Requires 2 pc. of garlic bread (or more), first piece is eaten along with the spaghetti, second piece is used as a shovel to clean up remainder and then mops the plate and eaten last.
Cereals (any that have bits of goodness, e.g. Raisin bran, lucky charms): goodness is eaten with every bite (raisin, marshmallows), but usually enough is saved up at the end to form a bite of nothing BUT good stuff.
Sandwiches (almost all types): Eaten around the edges first, middle last--this makes sure that the last bite contains the most possible goodness, and in the case of hamburgers the rarest meat (also good---mmm fuddruckers).
Chicken Nuggets: It's been awhile, but the habit is still there--usually each nugget gets two bites and a bit of sauce, last nugget gets eaten in one bite and LOTS of sauce. Doling of sauce as appropriate to facilitate the last nugget sauce deluge.
Pretty much every one of these habits is motivated by the desire to have the last bite taken be the best tasting bite (and thus the one that lingers afterwards). This is how I developed very early the habit of eating my least liked foods first (and entirely) before moving on the next least liked, etc. until I finished up with my favorite. Simple example: Green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, chicken. I've since broken that mold to an extent, but I will still eat my favorite thing last (like cornbread at boston market, mmmm).
So, if anyone reads this ever, what are your eating habits?
