For being a diversionary force, it still feels like the Solids have managed to jam Manipura full of soldiers, until the Maribel base is almost splitting at the seams with them.
But even if the Solids try to stop them every step of the way, Argilla can't complain. Something had…Broken, snapped seemed to be the only right word, back at the gates of Anahata. Prithivi has been prowling in the back of her mind since then, back and forth, back and forth, making Argilla's fingers twitch and ball into fists whenever she moves. And now that she has an entire battalion of soldiers between the Embryon and the exit to Manipura, she has a chance to work some of that out.
It still terrifies her, killing with her teeth and claws instead of her gun. Especially when that buzz from Prithivi doesn't die down after eating. The aftermath of the battles keep rushing by in a blur of red, an iron tang coating the back of her throat, and a sensation that makes Argilla want to gag even while she craves MORE of it.
And Manipura still isn't emptied of enemies.
They claw their way back out of the center of the former Maribel base, step by stubborn step. Serph and Gale are never far from her, either watching her back or leading the way. Even Gale seems to be…Agitated, somehow. It's not the same way she is; it's less overt, less screaming and angry, but she gets the feeling, as she watches Vayu's form melt away in a jerky motion, that it isn't any less fierce. The same goes for Serph; those switchblades seem ready to rip out of his arms, even as a human, and every muscle in his body looks like it's coiled tight.
Another group of demons spring up. That same group crumbles to the ground just as quickly, their blood mingling with the rain on the tiled streets. Argilla tries to keep Manipura's walls and lights from going any more red in her vision as she changes back, but it's hard. Prithivi won't be quiet, and it's only now, as the walls and the demons hiding in their shadows seem ready to crush the Embryon, that Argilla starts to understand just WHY Sera is so important. And how much she misses her song, now that she can't hear it.
