i've had this conversation a couple of times and i still can't get it right
i want it to be said easily in just a few sentences maybe it's just too big
so is it just me or does an education institution just drag the souls out of people and kill them?
the college, it's like boot camp and they teach you how to be heartless (how to follow rules under any circumstances)
and they teach you how to be greedy (self sufficient and have a higher paying job and breaking through the glass ceiling and getting what you deserve)
and someone is getting rich because thousands of people are convinced that they need to graduate
and i'm not saying eduation is not a valuable thing
but what if you don't want that? what if you know that you don't want to be stuck in nine to five land five days a week, squeezing onto a train with thousands of other commuters that don't look at you, don't make room for you, and don't even dare to help somebody else if it doesn't benefit them
but at least you don't have to work three jobs and at least you're fortunate enough to have a higher education and have the chance to better your own life
at least you know that when you're old, someone is going to take care of you
but you know there's got to be another way
but there's something inside, not deep down inside, it's there at the surface and i've seen and heard it
and i don't know why, but it seems that people don't realize it
sometimes you're going to another class and you tell your friend next to you "man, i just want to go home"
it's very obvious and really, really simple
your subconscious is screaming for help because humans aren't supposed to be stuck in this routine
you're supposed to be alive and creating, destroying, and figuring out things through experience
but i find myself staying inside, studying the same words everybody else in the class is reading, writing the same essay everybody else in the class is writing
i could be bowling with my friends right now, getting drunk with them, and figuring out how we're going to make a better school.
