America is obsessed with "more."

All you need to do is turn on your TV and watch for an hour or so. You'd be bombarded with commercials of food businesses competing for your hard earned dollars.

"We have MORE beef and cheese on our burgers!"

"You can get a sandwich, fries and large soft drink for the same price as just a sandwich at that other place."

"You just get more for $5 with us."

It all started with the 5 dollar foot-longs at Subway. I love Subway and think it's healthy food, if you order correctly (don't load your sub with cheese, mayo, oil). But it started an avalanche of businesses in "compete mode" to try to out do that. First, I think it was Quiznos with their oven baked sandwiches for the same price. Then Dominoes suddenly starts making oven baked sandwiches too. Given, these warm and toasted sandwiches are loaded with more cheese and things that are just plain bad for you. Do you think America cares if it's bad for you? No, they don't, they just see that you can get MORE for the same price.

The whole purpose of Subway in the beginning, when Jared came on the scene, was that their business was moderately healthy fast food and they had proof in the form of one man who lost tons of weight by just eating their products. Then, other people started losing weight with it too.

Now, people are obsessed with more; getting more beef and cheese, getting more soda, getting more fries, just getting more for their dollar, even if it means it could potentially lead to health issues down the road. All because money is tight for almost everyone in the country, they don't see past that.

It's no wonder that America is the fattest country in the world. I'm even a part of that group of people who are overweight. I used to chow down off the dollar menu at McDonald's. Even when I was vegetarian, I'd go to Burger King and get the veggie burger, but I'd get it with king sized fries and soda. Now, I avoid fast food all together, minus Subway.

But what do you think? Do you think people are obsessed with "more?"
