I'm pretty sure that Oklahoma wins the award (along with perhaps a few surrounding states) for having the most outrageous weather patterns. Don't EVEN bother trying to convince me otherwise. I'm not necessarily talking about the fact that in November/December we got 6-8" of snow. I'm not even talking strictly about the fucking COLD ASS TEMPERATURES because I know some of you guys are in colder places, but what I am talking about is...
Oklahoma weather is on fuckin' crack!
In the summer it gets just as hot as Sacramento PLUS ungodly humidity. Oh, and it rains too.
In late summer/early fall there are thunderstorms galore and STILL humidity. The thunderstorms are pretty cool though, so I'm not gonna bash those too much. Oh yeah, and wind starts too.
Then all of a sudden it just randomly gets cold as winter nears. And the wind starts to pick up. Then we get random days where the temperature drops like 30-40 degrees from the past day. And this happens on a kind of regular basis, as in it isn't a big surprise when it happens. Then possibly it snows. And sleets. And GODDAM FUCKIN ICE STORMS.
Ice storms is where we're at now. Basically, we're gonna get anywhere from 0.5 to 1.5 inches of ice on the ground (including roads). School closed down again, which is really trippy to me to have two "snow days" in one school year! Mmmmm, sleet. :-P
Oh, and after all THIS crazy weather?!?!?
TORNADO SEASON!!!!!
Kelly and I were going over tornado safety and planning last night at my request. My favorite thing... "If you're outside and a tornado is coming ... DIG REALLY FAST then hide in the hole!" That was my idea. :-D
And so basically the point of this all is...
Bad weather this weekend. Freezing rain until Sunday. All this basically means... very high possibility of multiple long power outages... which means that, in the event of a power outage, after my cell battery dies and my laptop batteries die I will have no communication with the outside world, aka you guys. So... if you need me this weekend please text me. If the power goes out I won't be checking voicemail messages (in an effort to conserve cell battery). Also, don't worry if nobody hears from me for a few days. I'm sure everything'll be fine.
Take care you guys! And congrats on the "snow day" SF girls! :-P Three and a half day weekend for you guys!!!! :-D
EDIT:
There are airline closures listed on the TEEvee. Also, the Cowboy Gatherin' Church rodeo is closed. (Yes, I'm seriously... sadly.)
