I've just spent an amusing afternoon... though for all the wrong reasons. I went last Easter with the cinema to see 'Valiant' with my mom, and we really enjoyed it. When we came out of the cinema we both said we thought her parents would enjoy it - especially my grandad who was a Para. So today we organised for them to come to ours to watch the DVD which we hired, and so they came and between them they might have seen the entire film. They took it in turns to nod off for a few minutes at a time! I managed to get a lot of knitting done through my laughter though.
I'm going tonight to see 'Stormbreaker'. I've managed to convince my parents that they want to see it - I'm trying to get them in the habit of going to the cinema more often, they're always complaining about films they wanted to see but never got around to. If it means I get to see a few films I fancy as part of the process well then that's all to the good.
I've had my DS-Lite about ten days now and I'm absolutely loving it. I have "Dr Kawashima's Brain Training" and "Animal Crossing : Wild World" for it at the moment, and am really enjoying playing both of them. I've never been much of a gamer before - I haven't got enough coordination for a lot of games and I used to just end up getting frustrated. The wide range of puzzle games (very good for helping me carry on getting better) and games that could be controlled using the stylus instead of complicated button presses really attracted me to the console and so far it's doing everything I hoped. The only problem is I want so many of the games... might have to buy another one before my student discount runs out!
In exciting news (well for me at least) we're getting Sky on Sunday :-D Since moving back from Reading I've really missed having a good choice of channels (and sports) and my dad has now decided to get it ready for the Ashes in November (yup, we'll be up in the middle of any non-work night). Premiership starts pretty soon so it'll all be ready for that too.
Who said weekends were for shopping?
