ToA Final Battle Script
Because I am a crazed, crazy person I kept my promise and scripted all of the variations of the final battle, includes some commentary (before I got too tired for that shit). My personal favorite is actually Anise's.
Obviously, spoilers.
Final Boss-
-Before
Mieu: "...I feel a really really scary power ahead."
Luke: "Yeah. Even I can feel it. Master Van is here. Once we go past this point, we probably can't come back."
Jade: "There's no need to come back. We're going to defeat Van and put and end to everything."
Luke: "You make it sound so simple..."
Jade: "It is. They believe that the planet's memory sets the future in stone, so they seek to erase it. We believe that the planet's memory is but one of infinite choices. That the future can be changed. I'm not particularly fond of this word, but... Our faith is simply different. We've reached a point where the matter cannot be resolved with words."
Tear: "Yes. Van has Lorelei inside himself. If Lorelei perishes, the world will attempt to recover Seventh Fonons, destroying their balance. Luke, we've come here to stop that. It's not like the last time. We understand what Van is trying to do, and we cannot accept it."
Anise: "Yeah! It's irresponsible to just erase everything and start all over again. If we were going to follow the Score and die, it would be people's responsibility to accept that. But we realized along the way that we could work together to avoid that. So we're going to live our lives. We're going to walk our own path. We're going to shove the Commandant's ideas up his ass! Heh heh..."
Natalia: "Luke, I kept thinking about you and Asch. I wished that Asch would come back the Kimlasca and support Father, together with you. But I was wrong. You and Asch each had your own path. I've been trying to tie both of you down with a promise that was no longer Valid. Asch is inside you now. In the past, I might have mixed you and Asch together in my mind. But you're you. So please, live the way you want to live. I'll do everything in my power to support you so you can do that. As your childhood friend."
Guy: "You've barely begun to be you, and you bear the weight of countless lives. You have to live enough to make up for the lives you've consumed."
Luke: "...Yeah. Just seven years, and I'm covered in blood."
Guy: "What I'm saying is cruel. Live, and live, and keep living, the whole time carrying the weight of that malice, hatred, grief and anger. But I won't let you carry it alone. I'm the same as you. Even if the whole world rejected you, I'd still be here, by your side. I'm not like the Six God-General's. I'm going to help you by staying alive."
Tear: "Luke, let's go. So we can rewrite Van's future with our own."
Luke: "Yeah!"
-Okay I LOVE this before battle pep talk. It's the BEST ONE EVER. And I think it just... gives such great looks into the characters, what they are thinking about before they go in.
-Jade? Covers the logics of it. The arguments of faith. The REASON why this won't be settled with words is not because they aren't willing to but because all other options have been exhausted.
-Tear kind of flows off what Jade said, but with a more personal touch, because it's her brother. Laying down what is at stake, what will happen if they fail, and why they cannot falter.
-Anise is all about the future and... surprisingly yet fitting, about responsibility. About making your own path and accepting the consequences of that.
-Natalia is COMPLETELY focused on Asch and Luke, as always, and I find this endearing. Not a single word about Asch or the final battle itself, but utterly focused on resolving the mixed feelings she'd had regarding Asch and Luke the entire game, and finally deciding to accept them as who they are and be a supportive friend.
-Guy is similarly fixated on Luke, or rather, Luke's life. He doesn't mention Van at all, but reiterates as clearly as he can that Luke must continue living, despite the fact that this is perhaps a cruel thing, and that Guy will always be there for him.
-The start
Luke and crew run up the stairs, Van is kneeling with his sword stuck in the ground next to him, meditating.
Van: "I'm impressed. I expected Asch."
Luke: "...Asch is here too. He's inside me, lending me his strength."
Van: "Second-order hyperresonance... You've surpassed your original. You are now a true human being. You've stepped across a sea of corpses and made it here. Now, join me, Luke. We will destroy the planet's memory and overturn the Score of Final Judgment."
Luke: "No."
Van: "Well, well. Why not?"
Luke: "I finally understand what it is I wanted. I wanted you to acknowledge me. I accept me as a human being, not a replica."
Van: "Yes. And you have become a human being."
Luke: "...But that's not enough. You said to me, "Can you not live unless you were born for some purpose?" I'm not living for anyone else. There's no special meaning in living. When I sensed my own death, I wanted to live. I know now. That's all I needed. So... I don't need you anymore. It doesn't matter if you accepted me or not. Here I am. Alive!"
Van: "...Heh heh heh. You've acquired some impudent wisdom."
Tear: "Van! People can change, just as Luke has. Reconsider, one more time. The planet's memory may exist, just as you say. But is it really absolute? Luke isn't here because it's written. He's here because he chooses to be. The planet's memory is one possible choice for a future, but only people make that choice."
Van: "That isn't absolute, either. You may not be choosing, but rather, being made to choose."
Guy: "If so then maybe you're being made to choose to the planet's memory. If you say you've decided to erase the planet's memory of your own will, then that itself is proof that the planet's memory isn't absolute."
Van: "That's an empty argument. Yulia's Score represents the planet's memory I speak of. The destruction of mankind is written in it. The destruction of the planet's memory is not."
Natalia: "So you will carry out that destruction with the originals, then created a replica world. That's no different than those who let Hod be destroyed. That's why Asch rejected you. Didn't you resent the destruction of Hod and despise those who caused it?"
Van: "I did. But I must do whatever it takes to destroy the absolute path of the planet's memory."
Jade: "It's strange to hear that from such a wise man. People and planets all eventually die. Regardless of whether the planet has a memory or not, that alone is guaranteed. Even if the absolute path you speak of exists, people have the right to choose their own path to destruction."
Van: "Fitting words for a Necromancer. Everything dies. It's merely a matter of time. But the planet's memory calls for it too soon. I cannot accept perishing early the way you can."
Anise: "But you're trying to destroy the originals even earlier than the planet's memory. You hate the Score so much, you're shackled to it more than anyone else."
Van: "Heh...perhaps so. I-- no, all of us -- are bound to the future we call the Score."
Luke: "We believe we can choose our future."
Van: "I know the future is predetermined.
As I thought... it would seem we cannot see eye to eye. Draw your weapons. I'll take you all on at once."
Luke: "Van... prepare!"
-Mid battle, Tear and Luke, also just Tear.
Tear begins to sing the grand fonic hymn.
Van: "...The fonic hymns. Their melody will indeed awaken Lorelei. But you don't know the true wish contained in those hymns. They won't work on me."
Tear: "No, brother... I do know. I can feel the thoughts and emotions Yulia placed in these hymns."
Van: "...If that's true, Mystearica, then sing. Now, for me!"
-Mid battle, Luke
Van: "...I'm not done yet. Such a weak attack will not make me falter."
Luke: "Ugh!"
Van: "You want to free Lorelei from me, don't you? Then show me your fury! Your rage!"
Luke: "I... I will win!"
-Mid battle, Natalia
Natalia: "...You truly are Luke and Asch's master!"
Van: "You're not bad for a princess who lived in a castle. Perhaps it's Largo's blood in your veins."
Natalia: "Perhaps. But I am not Largo! Even if the Score has made my fate go wrong, I will change that fate myself!"
Van: "Such arrogant strength. But perhaps you need that strength to reign from a throne bought with blood."
Natalia: "It is a throne made of the sacrifices of my people. That is why I must protect them! That is what I promised Asch!"
Van: "Very well, Princess Natalia. Save Auldrant, bearing the weight of its people on your shoulders!"
-Mid battle, Anise
Anise: "Not bad, Commandant..."
Van: "I didn't think you could fight this well when we made the replica Ion the Fon Master."
Anise: "I didn't want to get strong. I just wanted to help Ion. Maybe he was just a replacement for you, but for me..."
Van: "He was original. Yes, he was. He was so different from his original."
Anise: "OF course he was! They were different people! I don't care if the Score says the world will die. You made Ion suffer! You made Florian suffer! You made Sync suffer! I hate you!"
Van: "Sync would be quite unhappy if he heard you."
Anise: "I don't care! I hate you! I'll kill you!"
Van: "Very well. I'll turn you and that pathetic doll to ashes!"
-Mid battle, Jade
Van: "Fighting Dr. Balfour. It must be fate."
Jade: "I don't care about fate...miracles, faith...any of that. I care only about putting an end to what I began."
Van: "Yes, your replicas advanced research into hyperresonance and caused the destruction of Hod. And at the same time, they have become the way to free the world from the Score."
Jade: "That is why I will take back fomicry. At least I can use it more effectively than you."
Van: "Save your jokes until after you've won!"
-Mid battle, Guy
Guy: "So, you won't just go down easily..."
Van: "To think I would fight you, Gailardia."
Guy: "I feel the same. To think Vandesdelca would try to realize such a stupid vision."
Van: "I am thankful to House Gardios for protecting the Fende for ages. It pains me to fight you, to whom I offered my sword when you were young."
Guy: "But there's no way either of us will back down."
Van: "Indeed. We are all trying to take the future by different means. We will not see eye to eye."
Guy: "I fight in the Sigmund style. You in the Albert. Let's see which is better."
Van: "Interesting. En garde!"
-Mid Battle 2, Tear and Luke
Tear begins to sing again. Luke attacks.
Luke: "Die!"
Van: "Too slow!"
Luke is flung back and hits Tear.
Tear: "Uah!"
Van: "Have you forgotten? I'm the one who taught you the sword."
Luke: "Release Lorelei!"
Van begins to glow. Luke attacks and cuts his arm, the outer portion of which shatters.
Van: "...You've grown strong."
Luke: "Van..."
Van: "To think you could push me this far... It seems I have no choice but to unleash this terrible power within me."
Everyone guards against the power Van unleashes.
Jade: "So, he's finally used it. ...But I will be victorious."
Natalia: "Aah! I won't lose! These arrows will send you to the depths of the abyss!"
Guy: "This force...! So this is... the power of Lorelei."
Anise: "..You're strong... But... I won't lose!"
Van: "You have strong allies, Luke."
Luke: "They've supported me through everything. For their sake, I can't lose! No. For my own existence, I will not lose!"
Tear: "When you use Lorelei's power, your control over Lorelei weakens. Luke recognized that and forced you to use it. The same Luke you refused to acknowledge for so long. Luke will not... No... WE will not lose!"
Van: "...I commend you on making me use this power. I would expect no less from my student. But that, too, ends now. Goodbye, Luuuuuke!"
-Mid battle 2, Luke
Luke attacks Van but is blocked and flung back.
Van: "Too slow! Have you forgotten? I'm the one who taught you the sword!"
Luke: "That's why I will beat you!"
Luke attacks again and this time shatters Van's arm.
Van: "To think you could push me this far... It seems I have no choice but to unleash this terrible power."
Van: "You have strong allies, Luke."
Luke: "They've supported me through everything. For their sake, I can't lose! No. For my own existence, I will not lose!"
Van: "Humph!...I commend you on making me use this power. I would expect no less from my student." (Here he says "I taught you well." instead of "I would expect no less from my student") "But that, too, ends now. Goodbye, Luuuuuke!"
-Mid battle 2, Tear
Van: "Aaagh... Lorelei is... awakening?!"
Tear: "Vandesdelca! Prepare to die!"
Tear throws daggers that shatter the outter part of Van's arm.
Van: "...I would expect no less from my sister, true heir to Yulia's fonic hymns. It seems I have no noice but to unleash this terrible power!"
Van: "Do you think you can win?"
Tear: "Yes. When you use Lorelei's power, your control over it weakens. That is why we will not lose!"
Van: "...Mysterica. Such determination. I hesitated to confront you because I was your brother. But that, too, ends now. Farewell, my sister."
-Mid Battle 2, Natalia
Natalia shoots an arrow that shatters the outside of Van's arm.
Van: "Do you intend to finish that Asch was unable to accomplish?"
Natalia: "I’m not that vain. Asch entrusted that wish to Luke. I'll merely take your power for Luke's sake -- no, for Luke and Asch."
Van: "I see... Then I will destroy you with all my might, even if I must unleash this terrible power within me..."
Natalia: "Prepare yourself! I have the strength of my father, Badaq, and I will protect the people of Kimlasca!"
Van: "Then I will bury you as an offering to Asch. Farewell, Princess Natalia!"
-Mid Battle 2, Anise
Anise RIKE NINJAs and jumps like 20 feet in the air and comes down to smash Van's arm
Anise: "How do you like that?!"
Van: "Heh heh... I thought you merely played with dolls, but it seems I must fight for real..."
Anise: "If you make fun of Tokunaga, I'll make sure you die in pain! I will destroy you! For Ion!"
Van: "Who will be first to meet Ion again... Come!"
-Mid battle 2, Jade
Jade attacks and shatters the arm.
Van: "...I would expect no less from the Necromancer."
Jade: "The fact that I didn't kill you is a sign my skills have dulled."
Van: "To dispose of you, it seem I have no choice but to unleash the terrible power within me..."
Jade: "Once we strike you down, Luke and Tear will free Lorelei. Rest in peace!"
Van: "You will be the one going to the underworld. The corpses of all the victims of your research are waiting. Farewell, Necromancer."
-Mid battle 2, Guy
Guy strikes and shatters the arm.
Van: "...Impressive."
Guy: "Not too bad yourself."
Van: "To dispose of you, it appears I must unleash the terrible power within me..."
Guy: "Once we strike you down, Luke and Tear will free Lorelei. So I will fight to destroy you with everything I have!"
Van: "I couldn't bear killing you, a lord I once looked up to. But now I must. I will at least spare you pain. Farewell, Gailardia Galan!"
-Mid battle 3, Luke and Tear only
Luke: "Damn it... what is this power?!"
Jade: "Lorelei is going out of control within Van. It's drawing in our fonons! ...At this rate, our life itself will be drained!"
Luke: "No!"
Tear: "Luke! The second-order hyperresonance! It can neutralize any fonon!"
Luke: "...I'm going to free Lorelei! Tear, help me!"
Tear: "...Right!"
Tear begins the sing the Grand Fonic Hymn and approach Van. We get a cool celestial background and Luke goes on the attack. At the end, Luke uses second-order hyperresonance, which looks a lot like first-order hyperresonance but he says "Now you die!"
-Battle end, without Luke and Tear combo.
Van: "Rrgh...!!"
Van drops his sword.
Van: "You shall not succeed...!!"
Van go boom.
Luke produces the Key of Lorelei against the power, then strikes at Van.
Luke: "This ends now!!"
The cut goes right through Van, there is actually a squishy sound effect."
Luke: "Uaaaaaaagh!"
Explosion, Luke is blown away.
-Battle end, with Luke or Tear or without and after the above.
Van: "The Seventh melody... You've learned it... Tear..."
Tear: "I remembered... you sang it to me while I cried. You knew what the fonic hymn meant. You were telling me everything... right from the start. Thank you... Van..."
Van: "...Farewell... Mystearica..."
Van falls to his hand and knees.
Luke: "...Master Van!!"
Van: "Stop!! After all that's happened, you still call me master... You fool."
Van begins to glow.
Van: "...Forgive me... My brethren."
Luke: "Master Van... Thank you!"
Tear: (Goodbye... My beloved brother...)
Van disappears, and Eldrent begins to shake and collapse.
Luke: "All right. Everybody hurry up and escape. I'll stay here and free Lorelei."
Tear: "Luke!"
Luke: "It's my promise to Lorelei. This is what I need to do."
Jade comes forward, offers his left hand to shake.
Luke: "Jade...?"
Jade: "Luke. How you've changed."
Luke shakes.
Luke: "I was really bad, wasn't I?"
Jade: "But no matter how much you change or regret your actions, not all of what you've done will be forgiven. That's why you must come back alive... or rather, I hope you do."
Luke: "Jade... Shut up."
Jade: "Sorry."
Jade leaves, Guy runs up and slugs Luke in the shoulder.
Guy: "I'll be waiting. It's lonely being a servant without a master."
Luke: "Hey, you're not my servant anymore."
Guy: "So I'm not a servant in the manor. I'd still serve as your friend."
Luke: "You're being stupid."
Guy: "So hurry back home. I'll never forgive you if you just disappear."
Luke: "You knew, huh?"
Guy: "When you come home I'm gonna teach you not to hide things from your friends."
Guy leaves, Anise hugs.
Luke: "Anise?!"
Anise: "I knew, too. I wasn't as sure as Guy, but..."
Luke: "What are you talking about?"
Anise: "Hee hee. ♥ You're an easy read... But... I have to have you come back alive."
Luke: "You're not expecting me too... We're not..."
Anise: "No, no. ♥ I'm going to reform the Order for Ion. But in order to do that, I need a patron. So... come home."
Luke: "Whatever."
Anise leaves, Natalia comes in.
Natalia: "Luke... live... please. I don't want to lose any more people dear to me."
Luke: "Natalia..."
Natalia: "Not to protect Kimlasca. To live your life, understand?"
Luke: "I wanted to live."
Natalia: "You will. You can not disappear. You can not.
Luke: "Thanks."
Natalia leaves, Mieu bounces in.
Mieu: "Master..."
Luke: "Your job's done now. Go home, and be proud of what you did."
Mieu: "I'll be waiting for your return, Master."
Luke: "Thanks."
Tear runs up, stops and turns away. Turns back.
Tear: "Come home!"
Luke: "Tear..."
Tear: "You have to come home. You have to! I'll be waiting... always..."
Luke: "I will. I promise... I'll come home."
Tear walks away, pauses.
Tear: "Luke... I love you."
-Afterward
Tear sits on a rock in Tataroo Valley and sings the Grand Fonic Hymn. Guy is with her. Natalia, Anise and Jade approach from behind.
Natalia: "You didn't come. I believe your presence was requested at Luke's coming of age ceremony at the Duke's manor."
Tear: "I'm not interested in some ceremony in front of Luke's grave."
Anise: "That's why... the both of you came here, isn't it?"
Guy: "He said he'd be back. So let the others sit around, and tell stories at his grave. But I won't be joining them."
Jade: "We should be heading back soon. The valley is dangerous at night."
Tear, along with the others, make to leave. But lo, who is that redhead on the horizon?
Tear: "Why are... you here?"
?: "This place has... a nice view of Hod. And also... I promised someone."

Luke is flung back and hits Tear.

Luke: "Release Lorelei!"
Van begins to glow. Luke attacks and cuts his arm, the outer portion of which shatters.
Van: "...You've grown strong."
Luke: "Van..."
Van: "To think you could push me this far... It seems I have no choice but to unleash this terrible power within me."
Everyone guards against the power Van unleashes.
Jade: "So, he's finally used it. ...But I will be victorious."
Natalia: "Aah! I won't lose! These arrows will send you to the depths of the abyss!"
Guy: "This force...! So this is... the power of Lorelei."
Anise: "..You're strong... But... I won't lose!"
Van: "You have strong allies, Luke."
Luke: "They've supported me through everything. For their sake, I can't lose! No. For my own existence, I will not lose!"
Tear: "When you use Lorelei's power, your control over Lorelei weakens. Luke recognized that and forced you to use it. The same Luke you refused to acknowledge for so long. Luke will not... No... WE will not lose!"

Luke attacks Van but is blocked and flung back.
Van: "Too slow! Have you forgotten? I'm the one who taught you the sword!"
Luke: "That's why I will beat you!"
Luke attacks again and this time shatters Van's arm.
Van: "To think you could push me this far... It seems I have no choice but to unleash this terrible power."
Van: "You have strong allies, Luke."

Van: "Aaagh... Lorelei is... awakening?!"
Tear: "Vandesdelca! Prepare to die!"
Tear throws daggers that shatter the outter part of Van's arm.
Van: "...I would expect no less from my sister, true heir to Yulia's fonic hymns. It seems I have no noice but to unleash this terrible power!"
Van: "Do you think you can win?"
Tear: "Yes. When you use Lorelei's power, your control over it weakens. That is why we will not lose!"
Van: "...Mysterica. Such determination. I hesitated to confront you because I was your brother. But that, too, ends now. Farewell, my sister."
-Mid Battle 2, Natalia
Natalia shoots an arrow that shatters the outside of Van's arm.
Van: "Do you intend to finish that Asch was unable to accomplish?"
Natalia: "I’m not that vain. Asch entrusted that wish to Luke. I'll merely take your power for Luke's sake -- no, for Luke and Asch."
Van: "I see... Then I will destroy you with all my might, even if I must unleash this terrible power within me..."
Natalia: "Prepare yourself! I have the strength of my father, Badaq, and I will protect the people of Kimlasca!"
Van: "Then I will bury you as an offering to Asch. Farewell, Princess Natalia!"
-Mid Battle 2, Anise
Anise RIKE NINJAs and jumps like 20 feet in the air and comes down to smash Van's arm
Anise: "How do you like that?!"
Van: "Heh heh... I thought you merely played with dolls, but it seems I must fight for real..."
Anise: "If you make fun of Tokunaga, I'll make sure you die in pain! I will destroy you! For Ion!"
Van: "Who will be first to meet Ion again... Come!"
-Mid battle 2, Jade
Jade attacks and shatters the arm.
Van: "...I would expect no less from the Necromancer."
Jade: "The fact that I didn't kill you is a sign my skills have dulled."
Van: "To dispose of you, it seem I have no choice but to unleash the terrible power within me..."
Jade: "Once we strike you down, Luke and Tear will free Lorelei. Rest in peace!"
Van: "You will be the one going to the underworld. The corpses of all the victims of your research are waiting. Farewell, Necromancer."
-Mid battle 2, Guy
Guy strikes and shatters the arm.
Van: "...Impressive."
Guy: "Not too bad yourself."
Van: "To dispose of you, it appears I must unleash the terrible power within me..."
Guy: "Once we strike you down, Luke and Tear will free Lorelei. So I will fight to destroy you with everything I have!"
Van: "I couldn't bear killing you, a lord I once looked up to. But now I must. I will at least spare you pain. Farewell, Gailardia Galan!"
-Mid battle 3, Luke and Tear only
Luke: "Damn it... what is this power?!"
Jade: "Lorelei is going out of control within Van. It's drawing in our fonons! ...At this rate, our life itself will be drained!"
Luke: "No!"
Tear: "Luke! The second-order hyperresonance! It can neutralize any fonon!"
Luke: "...I'm going to free Lorelei! Tear, help me!"
Tear: "...Right!"
Tear begins the sing the Grand Fonic Hymn and approach Van. We get a cool celestial background and Luke goes on the attack. At the end, Luke uses second-order hyperresonance, which looks a lot like first-order hyperresonance but he says "Now you die!"
-Battle end, without Luke and Tear combo.
Van: "Rrgh...!!"
Van drops his sword.
Van: "You shall not succeed...!!"
Van go boom.
Luke produces the Key of Lorelei against the power, then strikes at Van.
Luke: "This ends now!!"
The cut goes right through Van, there is actually a squishy sound effect."
Luke: "Uaaaaaaagh!"
Explosion, Luke is blown away.
-Battle end, with Luke or Tear or without and after the above.
Van: "The Seventh melody... You've learned it... Tear..."
Tear: "I remembered... you sang it to me while I cried. You knew what the fonic hymn meant. You were telling me everything... right from the start. Thank you... Van..."
Van: "...Farewell... Mystearica..."
Van falls to his hand and knees.
Luke: "...Master Van!!"
Van: "Stop!! After all that's happened, you still call me master... You fool."
Van begins to glow.
Van: "...Forgive me... My brethren."
Luke: "Master Van... Thank you!"
Tear: (Goodbye... My beloved brother...)
Van disappears, and Eldrent begins to shake and collapse.
Luke: "All right. Everybody hurry up and escape. I'll stay here and free Lorelei."
Tear: "Luke!"
Luke: "It's my promise to Lorelei. This is what I need to do."
Jade comes forward, offers his left hand to shake.
Luke: "Jade...?"
Jade: "Luke. How you've changed."
Luke shakes.
Luke: "I was really bad, wasn't I?"
Jade: "But no matter how much you change or regret your actions, not all of what you've done will be forgiven. That's why you must come back alive... or rather, I hope you do."
Luke: "Jade... Shut up."
Jade: "Sorry."
Jade leaves, Guy runs up and slugs Luke in the shoulder.
Guy: "I'll be waiting. It's lonely being a servant without a master."
Luke: "Hey, you're not my servant anymore."
Guy: "So I'm not a servant in the manor. I'd still serve as your friend."
Luke: "You're being stupid."
Guy: "So hurry back home. I'll never forgive you if you just disappear."
Luke: "You knew, huh?"
Guy: "When you come home I'm gonna teach you not to hide things from your friends."
Guy leaves, Anise hugs.
Luke: "Anise?!"
Anise: "I knew, too. I wasn't as sure as Guy, but..."
Luke: "What are you talking about?"
Anise: "Hee hee. ♥ You're an easy read... But... I have to have you come back alive."
Luke: "You're not expecting me too... We're not..."
Anise: "No, no. ♥ I'm going to reform the Order for Ion. But in order to do that, I need a patron. So... come home."
Luke: "Whatever."
Anise leaves, Natalia comes in.
Natalia: "Luke... live... please. I don't want to lose any more people dear to me."

Natalia leaves, Mieu bounces in.

Mieu: "I'll be waiting for your return, Master."

Tear runs up, stops and turns away. Turns back.
Tear: "Come home!"
Luke: "Tear..."
Tear: "You have to come home. You have to! I'll be waiting... always..."
Luke: "I will. I promise... I'll come home."
Tear walks away, pauses.
Tear: "Luke... I love you."

Tear sits on a rock in Tataroo Valley and sings the Grand Fonic Hymn. Guy is with her. Natalia, Anise and Jade approach from behind.
Natalia: "You didn't come. I believe your presence was requested at Luke's coming of age ceremony at the Duke's manor."
Tear: "I'm not interested in some ceremony in front of Luke's grave."
Anise: "That's why... the both of you came here, isn't it?"
Guy: "He said he'd be back. So let the others sit around, and tell stories at his grave. But I won't be joining them."
Jade: "We should be heading back soon. The valley is dangerous at night."
Tear, along with the others, make to leave. But lo, who is that redhead on the horizon?
Tear: "Why are... you here?"
