What a tragically dull weekend...

May 10, 2004 21:40

I don't like my sleeping schedual being 'normal'isher, I mean, this weekend would not have been exciting, but somehow sleeping at odd hours and being tired alot makes things even more dull than they really were. I'm kind of sleepy again now and will probably nap for a few hours after I'm done with this, as my head hurts too much to making logging onto CoH sound very pleasent.

Saw Van Helsing, very fun, I enjoyed it alot. It's done just so that it obviously doesn't take itself seriously so that everything that would have just been bad is now bad in that good kinda way. Has a very classic B movie feel to it, especially at the beginning, plus a really good sense of humor. I winced for the heroine for most of the movie, as she was wearing a leather girdle that looked most painful. Anyway, enjoyed myself lots, go see it.

I've discovered that having a personal bookstore has it's benefits. While 'working', which this weekend has meant finding all of our books selling so cheap we are actually losing money to ship them, I come across things that I like and thus take them for my collection. Collection is the word I'm using for now, as all these books do is sit on a shelf somewhere until some day in the far off future when I'm bored or curious. So far I've picked up a book called Imaging Atlantis, which is exactly what it sounds like, and a dictionary of Celtic myths, which I'm not at all familure with but it's one of those things I've been meaning to get around to. There was also a book on the crusades that I almost pulled to send to Ruu or Steph, but didn't partly because my mum sighs loudly when I cost her money and partly because I didn't think it was exactly what they were after. Anyway, it's neat all the same, I generally won't go buy these kinds of books for myself, as they tend to be upwards thirty dollars in stores at least, but when you just run into them at garage sales or book sales you can snatch em at under five bucks, so even if I don't intend on reading it any time soon it's nice to know I got a bargain and have something in reserve for a miserably boring day.

Koya-chan didn't write all weekend x.x I'm sad.

I'm actually going to have money soon, at which point I will buy Bleach tankubon as Chira has agreed write up the translations for me. *.* Waaant, I miss Ichigo ;___;

That's all, my mind is going numb and I feel even less interesting than usual. Shall take that nap.

emo, movies
