A Short.. I Mean Long Tarot Reading

Jan 01, 2007 10:42

Just wanted to put this somewhere where it will be there for the entire year. Anyway... here's a New Year's Tarot Reading for me.

What I bring from 2006 into 2007: The Five of Wands and The Star

The Five of Wands speaks of competition between myself and others. This is the sort of card that speaks of conflict, but in a playful sort of way. Where other cards would speak of all out war, this card is competition for competition's sake. This card, due to the fact that the King of Wands describes my personality, this card also says that I'm a solution-oriented individual and because of this, the competition will allow the development that needs to be done for me to grow.

The Star indicates bright prospects, and suggests that I develop a calm, clear confidence in the future. This card also speaks of a time of healing. The Star usually does not speak of outer actions, but inner feelings of positive self-esteem, well-being and vitality.

Winter Months:
Overview: King of Wands

The King of Wands is the ideal person to be in charge of an organization. He can hold the vision, and inspire others to cooperate with him with his enthusiasm and optimism. His natural ability to be a leader, combined with his affinity for the element of Fire, and hence dragons, reminds one of the Pendragon of Arthurian legend. A very powerful card to see for the first three months of 2007.

January: Nine of Pentacles

Success brings the good things in life. This card might speak of a windfall or some other form of unearned income, or I may have reached a stage where I no longer need to work for a living (yeah right!). This card also symbolizes luxuries, hobbies and pleasures.

February: The Moon (18)

This card might speak of a difficult emotional journey ahead but it also speaks of the arrival of material from the unconscious plane existence. This knowledge may be upsetting, but it is necessary if you are to grow and become more than you are right now.

March: The Lady (3)

The Lady speaks of abundance and fertility. The inner process of the previous cards now bear fruit in creative works, fulfilling relationships and material benefits. This card speaks of a phase of passion in my life which is either sexual or motherly, and that I will be living life through my feelings and my sensuality rather than through my intellect.

Spring Months:
Overview: Prince of Swords

The Prince of Swords is intelligent, articulate and quick-witted. He enjoys an intellectual challenge and will often engage in argument or discussion for the pleasure of wielding the sword of his analytical powers. He may find it hard to spend time on his own, preferring to direct his attention outwards rather than inwards. Also speaks of new friends, or a whole new life begins to appear.

April: Four of Wands

Finding this card may indicate a sense of enjoying the harvest of my work, or it may relate to acquiring a new home, improving the existing one, or successfully launching a new project or completing a phase of work. For this reason, this card may also be suggesting celebrating the achievement with a party, ritual or rite of passage.

May: Death (13)

A card that speaks of inner and outer transformation, here we find a month where things will change. The old will die away and the new will come and replace it. Whatever may have frustrated, angered, or caused me to fail before, begins to fall away as the amount of power and good energy from the previous cards overcomes what is negative and disappears entirely.

June: Two of Wands

This card suggests that although I am satisfied in having everything that I need, that I will also long for more. My hands are full, I possess both wands... and yet in having them I have created a doorway, and a part of me longs to step through and explore a whole new world. I may be searching for deeper meaning, or contemplating taking a journey. I have a full material life, and now may wish to explore the spiritual dimension.

Summer Months:
Overview: Four of Swords

After the activity of the past several months, we find a period of relative calm. The overarching feeling of energy here is that of rest. There might be things that are hanging over my head during this period, but its a time to step back and look at what has been accomplished in the first six months of 2007.

July: The Sun (19)

However, that quiet time doesn't last long. The Sun speaks of unbridled hope, love, and faith. Here, we see a period where the energy that has built up for months bursts out in a glowing ball of energy for everyone to see. Bathing in the light makes one feel amazing and a halo will seem to surround me as the energy is finally shown to the world in all its glory.

August: Page of Wands

A period where I will want to be on the move, ready to take a journey and enjoy every moment along the way. The Page is young and immature and yes, it may be necessary to relax and use logic to stem the tides of the Page of Wands. But here, in August, it almost feels like that the energy is screaming to do something and there might be no way to stem the Page's power.

September: Prince of Wands

From Page to Prince. The Prince here signifies a time where I will be ready to take on anything at all. A powerful figure ready to cast fireballs, blow down any obstacles that might be in his way, and just wanting to be renewed and refreshed. A card that represents the maturity that Page of Wands gains, but at the same time the King of Wands is the most mature of the four Fire court cards.

Fall Months:
Overview: King of Cups

Here is a period of wisdom, compassion and artistic sensibility. He is an accomplished bard who has attained success and maturity in an artistic or creative field. He has directed his creative imagination into socially responsible achievements, and have mastered his feelings, placing responsibility before his need for self-expression.

October: Ace of Pentacles

This is a card that speaks of financial rewards or for success in a career. Each Ace speaks of a gift, and this Ace is one of material benefits. This may involve a job offer, promotion or salary increase at work, or perhaps an inheritance or windfall.

November: Seven of Wands

The previous ten months show extremely positive cards, but here we find the first 'negative' card in the spread. This card speaks of defending ones position from all those who might want to take over. Obstacles appear in the path and the Seven of Wands speak of the moment where one has to be ready to take on all comers.

December: Three of Wands

Here, success appears once more. All the hard work that has been put forward starts to bear fruit. My ideas, energy and enthusiasm begin to yield yet more positive and definite results, particularly in the fields of business, communications, writing and invention. I have the vision and the confidence to succeed, and the card may also augur a successful beginning if just starting on a new project.
