Oh man Hobby Lobby is the best place ever!!!! It's like Disneyworld! Good luck to you and your feathery pals :) I always feel bad getting them bloodwork too, they always look so pathetic afterwards.
Puck had to stay overnight. They had trouble getting him to cooperate and she couldn't get enough blood for the tests! I feel like a bad bird mom for leaving him LOL. And holy cow.....the bill for Puck's full work up is going to be like $450.00..YEOUCH!!...so I just brought Mercedes home....she only needed a well-check and nail/beak trim so I'll do that another payday. I found some kewl wood toy parts at the hobby lobby....yay!!
When my birds get done destroying toys I take them apart to salvage chain, parts, etc. I use a lot of rope, leather thong etc. You can recreate almost any toy out there as long as you have a drill to make the holes in stuff with. I just look at the toy pictures and go from there. You can find parrot-safe dye for tou parts at vitacritter.com

eww the vet! I took my new cat yesterday. I think I was more scared than she was!!! She got a shot and her belly shaved (to see if she'd been spayed). I guess all pets look pathetic after a trip to the doc :)
My bird Mercedes has been around enough to know that no good can come from the cat carrier LOL! She hates going to the vet! Congrats on your new kitty :D)
