Yeah! I don't think it's super common for them to overheat. They have to get pretty stinking hot, but yes, better safe than sorry.

How scary! But if you had the non stick pans all this time and the birds were fine, why get rid of them now?? :)

It is scary. I've always used them and they are fine if you never leave them unattended to boil dry, but my teenaged daughter is starting to cook now and she's already let one of my regular glass pans boil dry...if she did that with the non-stick one it would kill the birds, so I decided it wasn't worth the chance. Need some nice new non-stick pans? LOL

Well that makes sense. I was just curious. :) They say that non-stick pans lead to cancer too. *shrugs* I have too many pans as it is, but thanks!!
