Project Splended, Part 3 - Mecha Model A Completed

Jun 17, 2008 20:09

I have the first mecha model in the oven now. I would have preferred more detail on the limbs but that will wait until I have the exact portions of the computer model.

After filling out the stomach, I saw the need for much more developed pectorals.  Looking now, though, the arms need noticeably more room for proper freedom of movement.  That's some of my anxiousness for completion bleeding through.  (Camera flash glare photoshopped (Gimp'd) out for greater visibility.)

One can make out the depth of the new pieces more effectively from this angle.  I neglected to use aluminum foil as filler for the stomach (now that I had its size down), so I hope that doesn't affect the curing process too badly.

On can see the cloven nature of the hands and feet much more easy from this angle.  This design only came to mind during the hand-shaping process, but I feel rather pleased with it.

There goes the timer on the oven.  We'll see how it turns out!
