Project Splended, Part 1

I've decided to produce at least 30 seconds of animation this summer, hence the post title. With another, larger project in mind, the plan has settled on a trailer and will consist of multiple parts:

Sound effects? I suggest getting a digital recorder and just going out and around town to find sound effects, sampling them in .wav format on your computer, and applying them where they'll work. Everything that makes noise is useful, as normal sounds can be manipulated into interesting noises.

Thanks! The interesting part for me, though, will lie in finding audio and video equipment that can meet my needs, particularly a higher-quality camera.
