It was a pretty darned good Christmas weekend, if I do say so.
Eben and I left work early on Friday and went out for a late lunch of Thai. Then we went to Whole Foods and loaded up on fancy cheese, wine, and other tasties. We had a nice evening watching the last episode of Bab 5, Season 1, eating fancy cheese and baked apples, and finally opening presents. I got Eben fancy man things, and he got me an external brain of my own! I am going to become a list monster! I already have a kind of cheese journal, in which I shall keep a log of the cheeses I've tasted, their ratings, and where I got them. I plan to do this with wine as well. All I need now is for Eben to upgrade his brain so I can IR beam him shopping lists and the like.
We saw Dad on Saturday and finished up the last of our Christmas shopping. We drove up to LA early on Sunday to meet with friends and see Eben's dad, who apparently had no idea that we would be showing up! We hung out with Mr. Dad and watched the Chargers game, which was actually quite entertaining and exciting! After that we went over to Eben's cousin's house for Christmas Eve dinner and had a great time. Shawna is an excellent cook and both she and her husband were lots of fun to talk with. I think Shawna was happy at the prospect of there being at least one more female around.
Christmas day we got a late start after looking at Eben's baby pictures (heee!). We went over to my Grandma's in San Bernardino for an early lunch/dinner and opening of infinite presents. Hanging out with the family was very good, though it's always depressing when I realize how deep my mom has dug herself.
Now I am at work. Great and terrible foo! Though there was no traffic and lots and lots of parking next to the building, which was pleasant.
