The Beadcraft Update

Jun 13, 2008 09:37

So, I've mentioned here and there that I'm trying a new branch in the beading thing, and this will probably be the one that turns me into an official small business if it takes off. I've been playing with crochet and just a bit of knitting, and I learned of the existence of stitch markers. And not just those plastic things that they sell in the big-box craft stores, but handmade ones decorated with beads. After studying pictures of different styles, I realized that I could easily do the same thing.

These first two are for knitting only; the rings slide onto the needle every X number of stitches.

These can be used for either knitting or crochet. They can slide onto the needle or be threaded through the yarn when crocheting in the round.

I'm stupid proud of the last set...I realized after I started making them that I had a set of Gryffindor stitch markers! Now I just need to assemble the colors for the other houses.

These markers and others are currently hanging on the wall at the Bull City Fiber Loft. I'm also going to re-open my Etsy store on Monday, if not before, and try and move this backlog of jewelry that I can't stop making.
