Best-Laid Plans
My plan was to go in and volunteer with Little Bead's class this morning, since I wasn't able to do so earlier in the week, with being sick and all. Then I would come home and finish cleaning and vacuum the living room, clean the kitchen, and generally get ready for my family to descend upon us for Little Bead's graduation ceremony tomorrow.
I get there and discover that Little Bead's teacher is absent in order to attend her son's graduation ceremony and the assistant is "on vacation". The substitute and I muddled through as best we could--routines are starting to break down with it being the last couple of days of school and the kids are hyper--until it was time for them to go to science. I've taken the opportunity of that and lunch and recess (a movie inside because we're already on major weather advisories with heat indexes around 105ºF) to come home and grab a shower and chill before going back to assist with the afternoon.
I think I'm going to have to beg Mr. Bead to stay home from aikido tonight to help.
