Kitty story

I like it when it's cold in the apartment. That way, I can wrap myself further in my blankets and be all comfortable. This is why I set my air to its lowest setting at night. Somehow, I sleep better the colder I am. It's odd or some nonsense.

However, when I woke this morning, it was a little too cold. I blamed it on the air conditioner; it wasn't on last night, but I figured there's some sort of draft. Oh, no. The cats have figured out how to pry open the little cardboard blocker things I have between the AC unit and the window ends. One of them was sitting wide open, letting all sorts of cold air in. The opening is big enough for the cats to get through, and they were all looking at me when I came in the room with this "Hey, look, we can get outside now. Can we go outside?" look on their faces. I swore, closed the cardboard thing, and went to run a bath. When I come out a few minutes later, there's the baby girl cat prying the thing open and sticking her head outside towards freedom. I taped the thing shut again, but Lord only knows if they've been industrious enough to get it open again. I suppose I'll be heading home in a rush this afternoon to make sure they haven't.

Here's hoping I have three cats in the apartment when I get there.

To the rectory and then to lunches.

kitties, worky
