1919 SPAD XIII victory flight - Michael Backus
In January 1919 the 94th Aero Squadron, known as the “Hat In The Ring” squadron, was stationed in Koblenz, Germany as part of the Allied occupational force. In April the squadron flew their specially decorated SPAD XIIIs towards Paris for a French sponsored pennant presentation.
