Con Haul!

Better late than never.

What we've got:
- BW Neo Scissorsboy (Powerpinch), sealed and dirt cheap.
- BW Neo Apache (B'boom), sealed and even more dirt cheap.
- BW Retrax, loose, probably complete.
- BW Bonecrusher, loose, complete (once I dig the missile out from between the PC and the desk, stupid autolaunching), and totally awesome. Funny story; Bonecrusher was one of the surprisingly few BW toys I could find when the show's original run got me interested in TFs again, and was on my short list for the first BW toy I'd pick up. But in the end I went with the green-eyed Cheetor, and never got around to picking up Boncrusher at all. Somewhere around a decade later, I've finally made up for that mistake.
- BW Ultra Optimus Primal, loose, complete with instructions, tech card, and the cross-sell for some reason. Another one that I never got around to getting the first time around.
- Armada Powerlinx Hot (Rod) Shot, loose, with Jolt but missing the engine and missile, for five bucks from Rework's table. Nice to know he's still alive, I guess. Bought solely to display with all the other Rodimi we've been getting since then.
- RM Wingstun, sealed and laughably cheap.
- RM Wingstun again, loose but packed with the other guy's weapon for some dumb reason. Honestly, I paid the extra five bucks just to have the knife & fork combo. I don't even care about the rest of the toy, those weapons are awesome. Stupid-awesome.
- Energon Combiner limbs Stormcloud, Wideload, and Kickback. Half of the second wave guys that I never got, due to limited distribution and cash flow issues at the time. That wave of limbs, along with Decepticharge and Ultra Primal, were my short list of things to get at the dealer room. So of course they were damn near impossible to find. Those three, plus one extra Wideload, were the only ones I saw all weekend. Kickback I got for eight bucks Saturday, but Stormcloud and Wideload I didn't find until the last hour of the con Sunday. They both came from the same table, actually; I noticed Stormcloud sitting out between two of the first wave guys, and snatched him up for nine bucks. As I was walking away with him I saw the guy manning the table grab the Wideload out of a box and put him out, and immediately turned around with a "Hey, you didn't tell me you had more." But that and the second Wideload were all that he had, to my dissapointment. But hey, at least I've finally completed Bruticus Maximus. Never did see a Decpticharge, tho...
- Pepsi Optimus Prime, signed by Peter Cullen (because why the hell not?).
- Peter Cullen's autograph on the Botcon Charity Movie Showing flyer.
- David Kaye's autograph on a BW Season 3 DVD set. I'd have preferred to get it on a Season 2 set, but I keep not wanting to pay full price for that. But hey, I somehow doubt this'll be the last BotCon Kaye shows up at. As long as it's not the last one I show up at...
- Huffer and Springer, bought mainly because I really dig the Armorhide mold. So of course I find out about the Target Armorhide recolor after I buy it. Ah, well. Now I'll have all of them. Springer... I'm not sure I'll keep. He's nice, but is he nice enough?
- Vector Sigma prop, bought on a lark and somewhat regretted.
- 'Invisible' Mirage, the attendee exclusive. I suppose you can't complain about a freebie too much, but still. What a total waste of a recolor. He doesn't even light up all that well, with the dark blue they used. If they had used Mirage's original clear blue, or better yet the plastic they used in Movie Jazz's eyeband, he'd be at least a bit better. Still, I'll probably hang onto him, if just because he's the 'I was there' toy. That, and it's nice to have a Mirage that doesn't have two left hands.
- Games of Deception boxset, of course. I'm seriously debating if I want to keep it. Frankly, it's dull. Completing the Seekers is kinda neat, but Thundercracker's deco is so... Bland. A Jetfire repaint should be awesome, but Dreadwing's even blander. Bugbite's a potentially awesome character, but his deco is also pretty bland, and he gets dicked over in the comic. Which is also bland. About the only things I honestly like about the set are Dirge and Thrust, but they're not really worth what I payed for the damn thing. Especially when you consider that the boxsets are going for around $600 on eBay. (I guess there really are people who want the complete Seeker linup that damn much.) If I could get that much for it, it'd pretty much cover the cost of the convention for me, and give me the cash to get a Wii before Metroid Prime 3 comes out. Actually, that'd be an amusingly apt use for it, seeing as it was selling the last underwhelming OMG RARE Transformers I had, the clear God Fire Convoy set, that netted me the cash for my Gamecube and the first Metroid Prime. Of course, the downside to this is that I've never used eBay before, for anything, and have no idea how to even go about selling the thing on it. I had considered using the services of the eBay reselling shop here in town, but it appears to have just gone under, so that's no help. Eh, I'm sure I'll figure something out.

On a completely unrelated note, brief amusement at the date of 7-7-07. Is cute, but I'm waiting for next year. 8-8-08, I'm taking off to have a party. And buy lottery tickets.
