The big announcement at tonight's dinner is in, and it's BIG! Botcon
next year will be the end of June, on the weekend before movie...AT
Hasbro in Rhode Island!!! It's going to be the biggest Transformers
celebration ever, with tours of Hasbro, employees involved in
everything the whole weekend, and tons more surprises yet to be
revealed. Could a movie screening be in the works? Stay tuned for
more info if it becomes available this weekend?
BotCon... IN MY BACK YARD. Seriously, downtown Providence is exactly 36.5 miles from my door. That's only slightly more of a trip than I do three times a week for work. I haven't been entirely impressed with Fun Production's efforts before, but this... This is damn cool. The cost and hassle of getting anywhere from New England has always been one of the main factors preventing me from attending a TF con before, but now I don't have that for an excuse. Hell, I could even do the walk-in thing with impunity. Unless some of the more interesting things are pre-reg only, which wouldn't surprise me at all... In which case the fucking expensive box set FP makes you buy with the pre-reg had better be damned awesome. Pirates awesome. I've got a Wii to buy next year too, after all.
This also means I have no excuse not to meet up with the WiiGii! crowd, finally. I'm not entirely sure if I'll survive the experience.
In completely unrelated news (because I don't feel like doing a seperate post for it), having your fuel lines suddenly blow out as you're driving is a very disconcerting experience. Their waiting until I was right in front of the service center just down the road that I've been going to recently was rather nice of them, tho. As was the final repair bill only being eighty bucks. If you're gonna have a catastrophic failure, that's the way to do it.
