i like working with little kids because it's refreshing. for 2.5 hours i don't have to worry about myself or anything going on in my world because my attention is being diverted to 10 little people. most of them haven't been tainted by anything and if something bad has happened in the three years they've been alive they seem to forget about it once they find a pine cone in the sand, going around collecting "nature" (pine needles/pine cones/twigs/etc). not to mention that it takes multiple summers for them to remember you. their biggest worries are if their friend will show up to camp or what color they're going to paint their dinosaur. they tell me about how they saw "A REAL LIVE HERMIT CRAB" crawling along the boardwalk on their family trip to aruba or their three dogs four cats and two fish. they sing pirate songs they've heard somewhere and drive the play car to chuckie cheese every day.
