"our youth is fading, old age is just around the bend"

i miss being a little kid.
i miss jumping in piles of leaves.
i miss jumping off of swings, seeing who can jump further.
i miss when hopskotch was my biggest challenge.
i miss when riding my bike wasn't a way of transportation, but something i did for fun.
i miss stupid jumprope songs.
i miss hand games that made absolutely no sense.
i miss jumping through sprinklers.
i miss making snow angels and igloos, and having snow-ball fights in the yard.
i miss sledding down cottle hill.
i miss being able to pretend i was anything i could possibly imagine.
i miss fighting over who got to be the 'big sister' in House.
i miss making up our own game, and then not remembering the rules the next time we tried to play.
i miss playing Doggy Doggy Diamond to see who was "It".
i miss when "Father's Permission" could get me out of dilemmas.
i miss cartoons that aren't animated.
i miss shows with puppets in them.
i miss celebrating the 100th day of school.
i miss when the only thing i was scared of, was getting cooties from the boys.
i miss going to "library" (as a class) and getting to color with the jumbo crayons.
i miss when all i did with the computer was play Paddleball & Oregon Trail.
i miss when "writing in script" was a bunch of squiggly lines on a piece of paper.
i miss when going out on a saturday night meant "manhunt within the radius of 3 blocks with the neighborhood kids" rather than "drinking with the girls" or "meeting guys in a bar".
i miss thinking 18 year olds were so cool and old.
i miss when college was forever away.

when the fuck did i grow up?
