So yesterday was a red letter day for me and the bike. The seat and I got very well acquainted. It started out with a Craig and I trying to find the path which travels along I-205 all the way from Vancouver WA down to Milwaukee. Its about 20+ mi worth of bike path, but a bit obscure as to where it starts by our work. By the time we found the path it was 15 mi of some adventurous riding around in 85 F weather we were having yesterday. All in all a great afternoon brake for us. By the time I got home I stripped into tank top and shorts and vegged out on the couch in my blessedly cool apartment.

Knowing fully well that I had to get back up on the bike in about an hour. And right on the dot 7 PM rolls around and Cage is there for my evening training run! YAY!!! So by the time we figured out what we are doing and left it was 7:30 and the day was fading. We went through the Pearl and out on HWY 30 all the way out past St. John's bridge and to Svuavie island. Round trip we should have been about 24/26 mi but of curse "should" never happens. Half way back as we are loosing light and all of a sudden there is a stream of explicit words behind me. Cage got a flat! Now this is a guy whom till now I have only seen work around little kids of 4 or 5. So when he ripped into more colorful language I really had to laugh my head off. We fixed the tire, broke the pump, got picked up by a friend, fixed the pump and got the rest of the tire up, and then were of to finish the ride. It was 9:30 by than and pitch dark. I have never ridden in the dark because I don't have lights on my bike, but I had some loaners yesterday and oh so much fun! By the time we got home it was 10:30 and Cage refused a ride so he left for Vancouver and I made a swift departure for bed. This morning waking up was a bit challenged but it happened by 7:30 AM and then another nice day started. But yesterday was a fabulous day, absolutely great! I hope it means more great days to come!!!
