An intriguing
mention of a rare book, the Russian Commercial Guide to Shanghai (1931), compiled by V. A. Beloff and N. M. Gubanoff. It is presumably in the
M. D. Vrangel collection at the Hoover Institution.
Colonel N. M. Gubanoff was a publisher and one of the leaders of the Union of the Russian War Invalids in Shanghai. V. A. Beloff was a political activist and, probably, the same person as the author of Beloe Pokhmelye (White Hangover), a widely quoted book on the problems of the Russian life in exile, published in Russia in 1923.
