Why haven't we made (cloned) dodos and mammoths yet? we have the tissue, come on FOR SCIENCE!

DNA is quite fragile, and this makes it hard to do. They have tried and failed with the Mammoth

Have you not seen the Summer Glau masterpiece Mammoth? Or indeed the movie that takes forever to have dinosaurs in it, Jurassic Park? Now imagine either or both with big-nosed flightless birds doing the terrorizing. And I don't doubt the dodo would terrorize things; that whole "flightless and fat" schtick is not fooling me for a second.

I do hear that the dodo tasted delicious thobut, so who knows what Jamie Oliver might turn his attention to next ...

Dodo's tasted foul. It was the reduction of their habitat (for firewood) and the cats and rats we brought with us that did for them.
