for once, my well-honed travelling planning skills came into good use. thanks to an ultra-procrastinative colleague, a work trip to USA that i initiated since early March just got approved two days ago, and we are supposed to leave on 3rd May! cue madness of arranging for travel request forms, hotel bookings and flight details!!! managed to nail everything down in two hours, crossing my fingers tight that i didn't miss out anything important omggggurghhhhhh.
what a crazy, crazy April. weekend translator stint that led to a twelve-day working marathon, a not-so-pleasant customer visit, lengthy meetings with my boss for my annual appraisal and new KPI, ridiculous amount of work piled up, and getting very irritated by all the rife and unfound rumours swirling around in the office. this usually happens in April, as all the managers start rounding up their people for annual appraisal, which in turn determines the rating of each employee and the corresponding bonus payout in June. and now that i'm part of the higher-up team, i've had LOADS of people trying to sneak any sort of first-hand news from me. whut. my eyes have been rolling so frequently that it's a miracle they're still in the sockets. honestly, i try to tune my mind out as much as possible whenever stuff like this goes around, because really, it's just meaningless. having to be all nice and diplomatic about it without showing my bitchy face is just soooooo tiring.
anyway. gotta head back to the office over the weekend to quickly catch up on the work stuff, prepare the documents and reports i need to arm myself with for the trip, pack my luggage and stuff as early as possible because my cousins are visiting over the Labour Day weekend and we're staying over at JB for one night. then there's the Backstreet Boys concert on Sat, and i'm flying off the following morning.
reminder to self: BREATHE.
