over dinner last night, Grace announced that she and her SO are now proud to-be-owners of a 6-room flat in the west area that cost a whopping half a million. and in order to settle the paperwork required by the HDB, they're in a rush to settle their ROM ceremony by Jan next year, for not wanting to have it after CNY because it's the year of the tiger that bodes unwell for marriages. was quite shocked when she told me all these, but nonetheless i'm really, really happy for them. finally they'd have a place to call their own! :)
we talked alot about property, and came to a conclusion that single owners like me should look at private property because there's just too much regulation with resale HDB flats, COV amounts are ridiculous, and they're getting equally expensive. suddenly the prospect of owning my own shoebox apartment became very possible, but i'd need to work doubly hard to save up for the down-payment. unlike Grace, whose mum generously loaned her a large sum of money for down-payment, i'd be grateful if my mum doesn't come asking for more.
after dinner we went furniture-shopping(my new fave past-time!), and i shortlisted a few back-support matresses to replace my current one, which i've used for at least six years. pricy, but for the fact that you spend one-third of your life in bed, i think the price is justified. there goes my AWS though, but it's okay, cos i won't visit Seoul next year. few days ago i came across a bunch of Korean tourists, and as soon as they opened their mouths and rattled off, i decided that Korea is a no-go. there's just something incredibly annoying about the language that really irks the hell out of me. shall spend time putting a SkinFood list together for a colleague who's going in Jan.
will be helping out at AFA this weekend, hope i won't screw up. am starting to feel the pressure of making sure the sales targets are hit. last year was a blast, hope it'd be equally amazing this year too!
am reading up on insurance policies right now. it's something i've been putting off for the longest time, but it kept bugging me somehow so i'm gonna get it done and over with.
