Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.

1. Gazette
wow haha! just yesterday i was msn-ing Yohan, and he's like "you coming to Tokyo for concert again?!". so i guess this pretty much sums up how much this band means to me. my 11th Gazette live in two weeks! i'm glad i found them, i really am. and i have to say that i am very, very  hearten by the way they've been growing in their music and career, because it really goes to show how strong and solid they are with their ideas, beliefs and their trust in the band as a whole. either that, or they must have found one heck of a manager with impressive foresight and authority in the company.

2. h.Naoto
haha why am i not surprised? XD

i got to know about this brand back in 2002, from a copy of GLB (#6) at Orchard Kino, and finally laid my hands on my first h.Naoto item on my maiden trip to Tokyo in 2004. since then there was no turning back, although since 2008 i have fleeted from h.Blood & h.Anarchy to hEAVEN, Seven & Sixh. at the height of my auction/online-buying frenzy, i had about 80+ h.Naoto items! i have a really, really short attention span, but h.Naoto has been the one-and-only brand so far that kept me captivated after so long. partly because Hirooka-san is a fucking genius with his ideas, and partly because the brand has branched into so many different styles that could cater for every whim and fancy. wanna feel glamorous? h.Jelly & Honey. hobo-chic? Gramm, Seven & hEAVEN. punker-rock? h.Anarchy. all gothic? h.Blood. cutesy and genki? hangry + angry. all deconstructed and dangly-shite? Dark Red Rum. school-girl charm? h.Frill. i guess this is the only brand that one can wear seven different styles for seven days in a row. :D

3. Glay
they were the reason why i got into all the Jap-craze and stuff. saw them perform "Kanojo no Modern" on Kohaku, way back in 1996? 1997? was immediately mesmerized, and it was akin to "point-of-no-return". stalked Tower Records and HMV for their CDs, rushed to Maruzen and Kinokuniya for their latest magazines, watched their concert DVDs for umpteen times, and even began studying Japanese to understand their lyrics. their music were a source of comfort while i was still in poly, and up till now i'd tear whenever i hear the really old songs like However and pure soul. back then, i dreamt of watching them one day, and i finally got the chance to do it last year. while i am no longer as much a diehard fan as before, i am grateful for having their music to ride out some of the most difficult parts in my adolescent years.

4. Algonquins
my second favourite brand! algonquins have this really unique way of turning normal daywear into funky cute pieces, and i love their designs and wearability. right now i have mainly tops like t-shirts, polo-tees, parkas and vest. sadly their pants are for skinny people, and their skirts are too short for my liking. and for some odd reasons i can never find an algonquins bag that suits me, so i hope to be lucky this time. XD

5. Lolita fashion
wow, this could turn out to be a mini-rantessay. i have a love-hate relationship with lolita fashion. love the way it looks, hate the way it looks on me. few years back i was slimmer and less haggard, and was so obsessed with the style that i almost wore it whenever i went out. in 2004 i came back with my first truckload, discovered the marvels(!) of yahoo japan auctions, Crescent Shop and Paypal, and it spiralled into an uncontrollable cycle of buying, wearing and selling, then i got vain, and felt disdain at wearing the same thing more than twice, hence the cycle turned more vicious. eventually i got sicken by all the "rules" imposed by this style, and just gave up. i guess the conformity of this style stiffled me too much in the end.

every once in a while, i'd think of picking up this style again, but i know it'd be futile in the end, so i'd just stick to my beloved h.Naoto. XD
