Dream I had last night, upcoming birthday, career fair, etc.
Or technically late this morning I suppose. Can't remember as much of it now since I've waited so long to write it up, but that's how it goes. Actually, there were two which were related but can't differentiate anymore.
Anyhow, it involved The XGF. For whatever reason she was over, except that my place was different (as it tends to be when dreams are involved). It had something to do with me leaving to go grocery shopping and her needing a place to crash for whatever reason. I think she may have been doing laundry and had herself wrapped in a blanket. She was actually cooking things (which was VERY unlike her), though she also left all of the burners on the stovetop on, as well as the stove. Overnight or something; I can't remember. I do remember asking her what she was thinking, and was glad she hadn't burned down the place. She was acting really weird in general, like, not talking much despite being there (she generally would at least make small talk or something when we were together). It was just kind of odd.
In other news, I really need to start waking up much, much earlier. Not just because I feel sluggish and like I've wasted the day otherwise, but because I found last night I can't even fall asleep until later. Like, 3AM and I was wide awake. Blegh. Fortunately I have an appointment at 9:45 on Friday, so I will have to wake up earlier that day. Also will be volunteering at my partner school, as one of the students requested some one-on-one attention. :)
I'm planning on having a birthday shindig thing. I'm hoping several will come for various parts. Plan is to go see a movie (thinking the new X-Men), get food, drink, and come back for more drinking, games (drunken DDR whoo!), and hopefully cake. I've already been in contact with a coupla friends who are gonna try and make it up from Portland, which would be super cool. Gonna try mixing my various friends and associates this time; we'll see how it goes. I hope it'll be lots of fun.
The College of Ed. hosted a career fair the other day; several of the surrounding school districts were invited. Talked with them all, and glad I went. Need to buy some Thank You cards to send out. Got some tips on my résumé format, Renton brought chocolate, and I got to see some of my cohort whom I've not seen lately. Got all suited up and rode the bike down, even got hollered at by a cute blonde in a car on the way down. Good day.
Generally just been lazing it up lately, especially now that my TPA revisions are due. Sleeping in until whenever and going to work. It's nice having a simple life again for the time being. Spending time with The GF. Oh, finally got to take her out to dinner to celebrate her new employment. That was fun; went to the Italian place next to Die Bierstube. Quite yummy.
Washing my sheets today; my friend Suz would be proud. Haha. Don't have work for another four hours, then tomorrow I've got the day off. Oh, and it's payday today too. :) But yeah, generally been focusing on things that make me happy by way of being grateful of all of the goodness I've got going for me. Life is good, if a bit on the unproductive side lately. But at least I'm enjoying it. Generally nice weather as well. Hope you're all doing well too!
