Happy Rapture Day
Yesterday was friggin' awesome. The GF woke me up *grins* and after having frozen waffles and Canadian bacon we went down to the U District Street Fair. We met up with some of her friends, including the BF of one of them (who sadly had work and thus did not join) who turned out being a hella cool guy.
I got a piroshky! :D We also walked around and looked at stuff and people, including an okay street performer/juggler. Turned out the BF ran into some friends he hadn't seen in months and left us to hang with them, but I suggested hitting up Big Time later and when The GF's other friends took off but she decided she was down for it, we ran into them again! (Oh, I also bought truffles.) The beers were yummy and we learned that it was the dude of the BF's friends' birthday, so we tried to convince him to come with us to find a bar in order for him to try a whipped cream vodka + OJ (it tastes just like a cremecicle!), but we couldn't and he had his wife had to go. However, the three of us eventually went to A Pizza Mart (which is actually a bar, wtf?), where we finally found a place that had the whipped cream vodka and tried them and they were DELICIOUS. I ended up trying (and drinking) a lot of different things, including finally trying a chocolate cake shot (ZOMG YUM!), as well as a a Coronoa + grenadine, among other things.
It turned out that we were there drinking when the Rapture (didn't) hit. One of the bartenders announced it would(n't) be happening soon, so I went up to the bar and requested she play End of the World by R.E.M., but she said that sadly they didn't have it. However! The BF did on his phone, and the bartender was cool and played it. :)
What else... I finally taught The GF to play cribbage, which was fun too. And before that, in wandering around I ended up going into several places on The Ave which heretofore I had not actually been in, so that was fun.
Other good stuff happened too, some of which was actually from the day prior. Went out with my friend and her visiting parents to sushi, went to Alki for the first time (it totally looked like a piece of SoCal transplanted in Seattle - it was so weird!), had a coupla ice cream sandwiches, went to Baskin Robbins, etc. So yeah, I'm happy. ^_^
Need to leave for work in half an hour-ish, but wanted to post about recent happinesseseseses.
