Today I went to see a movie and go shopping with my amazing groupmates, but minus Kashka, and plus Missy. :)
Magic Mike was...naturally disappointing if you were expecting some depth in a stripper movie (like everyone was), but it was alright for me. :)) I got to see what I wanted to see. Though overheard from the bathroom, an old lady sighed, "less talking, more stripping!"
Went to Forever 21 afterwards to take advantage of the sale. I wanted pretty much everything :( But none of them would really be wearable in the frigid cold of Akita (i.e. short sleeves, or shoulders exposed, thin fabrics, etc). In any case, I bought both something I needed, and something I wanted! Good enough. :D
But lemme tell you the sdlgjsl of today. :)) I don't have a great sense of direction when it comes to public transit, but I had to use almost every kind there was (minus trikes, buses, and pedicabs if you count 'em). It's funny how I was reading about
10 of the Most Doomed Expeditions in History the night before because this almost ended up as something like it. There are two things that contributed equally: my n00bness, and the complicatedness of Philippine public transpo in general.
First it was just the little things. I was being a n00b at the Santolan ticket vendo. I couldn't get the coins in o_o; But turns out you had to press something first before it lets you pay. I did that, but it didn't except new coins, which were all I had. So I lined up for a ticket (which was good because I would've gotten the wrong ticket, I realized, if I paid thru the vendo).
I got to Araneta soon enough but forgot what stop Mega was (though it wasn't even my 1st/2nd time going there). So I asked a guard, and arrived eventually. Was feeling pretty dizzy though because of the heat. Then Mega! (insert fun time here though we almost entered through the wrong cinema)
Going home, mom told me to take an fx. I only ever took one with my sister, a ride which I slept through, so I don't remember the details. But after some walking, I found the Taytay fx terminal, and waited. For an hour+. :s At that point my phone wouldn't send messages anymore and I hardly had cash so I was like "ok... better just wait for it to come."
It came, and I asked them if they pass by my place (because according to mom and sis, they should). The guy said no, but mentioned a place that was familiar and where my siblings always passes/texts my dad about on the way home. Worried I wouldn't get another ride/they were all the same, I took the fx anyway, and got off at familiar-sounding place because I was worried we'd only end up farther from our village gate if I didn't. Only, the place wasn't familiar-looking at all. :/
I walked a bit and asked some people about our village, and they told me to go the other direction, and take a jeep (I hate jeeps, and I've never taken one alone nor at night nor in this area). But I took one, because what choice do I have (I was thinking of walking from familiar-place to our village but I found out it was a looooong way)! Asked three separate people if the jeep was really going where it said it would, and thankfully, it did. Then I bought ice cream to make me feel better. And now I'm home.
My lack of direction is only saved by my tendency to want to be sure about things. Like "Are you SURE you're going there? ARE YOU SURE?" or asking directions. :)) But mom was saying that it was probably good that I got off at familiar-place, else I would've ended up waaay elsewhere (apparently, the Taytay fx had TWO routes while I've been informed of only one :l) But UGH. :))
