I don't celebrate Thanksgiving

Nov 25, 2010 19:34

But it just so happens that it's Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for having been loved so much by such a kind grandmother.
I'm thankful for having known her and having spent time with her.
I'm thankful for having the opportunity to see her while she still knew me.

I'm thankful for having seen her smile.

I never heard her talk again, not for the past few months, but I'm thankful for having understood her feelings, and for having been given the chance to express my own... maybe not verbally, but I hope that my visits meant something to her.

I'm thankful for the achievements I have to show, because I know it made her proud and happy.

I'm thankful for having been the last of her grandchildren, a slightly special person, because it means I was special to her. I am extremely thankful for our relationship.

Lola, I love you, and I hope you are happy where you are.
Please watch over us.

love, messages, family, be strong
