bar tales
i went to a bar tonight that i don't normally frequent, but i know that a boyfriend of a friend works there. so i hang out with him for a bit but then at the end of the night, as i'm leaving, something odd happens. i stood up and said goodbye to him and started to walk out, when i hear another guy at the bar say to the bartender, "what's her name?" the bartender replies, "don't worry about that. eyes off..." then the rest of his sentence gets cut off by the door closing behind me.
so i'm left to wonder why a guy that i only know socially would say something like that. since he's a friend's boyfriend, i'm going to rule out the most obvious reason (that he wants to sleep with me). so that leaves two possibilities:
(1) the guy that asked about me is an asshole and my friend thinks well enough of me to protect me from such things, but that seems odd, because i'm not sure he even knows me that well; or
(2) i seem like enough of a bitch that he just tells all his friends they shouldn't even bother talking to me.
which could it be?
