so i think i was drugged at the reverend horton heat show last night. things are much clearer to me today, and
i left class around 9:45pm and went to the beachland, arriving around 10pm. everything was normal - i got one mixed drink and had one foo-foo girly shot at the bar. then about... hmm? an hour later?... i got another mixed drink and bought another round of foo-foo shots and did one with phoebe. i think it was maybe half an hour after that when i got sick. so that's an hour and a half with two mixed drinks and two shots, and i didn't even finish the second drink because i was sick by that point.
anyway, i suddenly felt sick in the middle of the show, and phoebe took me to the bathroom, where i threw up several times. i really don't know what went on in the bathroom because i was completely out of it, but at some point later - phoebe says it was over half an hour - she had to come get me and take me out of there. i think i was passed out in there?
phoebe ends up basically carrying me outside because i can't walk. then i remember being under a tree on the street, and throwing up more out there and by this time i couldn't see. i couldn't see. it was very, very crazy - i've done drugs before but nothing has happened to my vision. i could actually see, but no details. i could see shapes, colors, and light and dark, but i couldn't see clearly enough to recognize people or anything.
so there's a police officer out there who asked what was going on and called an ambulance. they took me to euclid hospital - which i've never heard of and will never go to again - and they did absolutely nothing for me there. they just sat me there a while and ran a bunch of drug tests that all came back negative. but the doctor told me that their lab wasn't sophisticated enough to test for anything except opiates or barbiturates, so basically no club drugs would show up. the effects of whatever it was went away just about as soon as they came, and the hospital sent me home.
they also told me that there's basically no point in reporting it... the nurse said to just chalk it up as a learning experience because nothing bad actually happened to me. i could file a police report, but it would mean absolutely nothing. there's basically no evidence, no suspect, and no injury. there were hundreds of people there, and i left my drink repeatedly unattended.
i couldn't sleep last night because i felt all sped up. this morning i threw up again, and today i'm very, very speedy.
i did some research this afternoon and learned that what happened to me is characteristic of GHB... including feeling very peppy and excitable today. also, it says that it's not usually tested for, you have to test for it specifically because it won't show up on a regular tox screen, and a lot of labs are sophisticated enough to detect it. also it can apparently leave your system in as little as two to three hours.
i feel very silly about all of this, because it just seems very unrealistic that cleveland would be the type of place where this could happen. i guess i should take things more seriously.
